hello,

id like to buy a simple desktop printer. basically ill use it for to print out b&w texts, less pictures etc.

is there some good printer that one could recommend?
a must is that i can refill the ink cartridge at one of those copy shops.

Buy a laser-printer. Brother HL5380 DN for example.
Ink-cartridges are a hassle and you'll pay through the nose (or stain your hands while refilling yourself (which is totally unsupported by any manufacturer, AFAIK and thus voids the warranty).

If you don't print much (less than a couple of pages per week), just don't buy a printer at all and instead print at work (unless this is an "offense" at your work-place).

there is a Pixma currently at Aldi..price around 90 as well... I use a higher range Pixma and very happy especially since I buy Pelikan cartridges which save you some dough

I am moving in a month and we have an HP at the house my wife is trying to sell for a very inexpensive price, less than half of what we paid. It has only been used for a year, and very sporadically. Actually the printing is very good, however, like most desktops the price comes with the refills.
