Re: International Tv

Swisscom TV has BBC1-4, ITV 1-4, Channels 4 and 5, Film 4, Sky News and a number of other English channels. No Sky Sports though .

The basic package costs 19 CHF a month; the "Plus" version (which offers more HD channels, radio stations and the ability to record/pause) is 29 CHF a month.

Cablecom have a similar deal, but I don't know the details.

Re: International Tv

I went with Cablecom- UPC. It offered 120 channels with DVR recorder, BBC 1-5 among a few other English choices, home phone service and fast internet (50 Mbps) for 80CHF.

Why Sky??

What is wrong with Swisscom or Cablecom??

Not having a go, but why is everyne obssessed with giving Murdoch even more money that he should be receiving???

Just for note, Zattoo has cancelled all the free to view UK channels - I have stopped using the service for a while.

My suggestion: VPN => BBC iPlayer et al - works an absolute treat.

You can even extend that to Sky Player if really, really required.

Eh? I was watching it last night whilst tucked up in bed

As far as I could see, the full range of channels was there and I hadn't parted with any cash to watch it.

Where were you watching? Zattoo won't connect to UK TV from most European countries other than Switzerland as most other countries laws don't allow re-broadcast of FTA TV.

Re: International Tv

You can also try www.teleboy.ch

There is also an option to record shows you miss.

Enjoy

Full-screen option on the laptop doesn't have any ads - watched it from about 8.30 to 11.15 without anything popping up.

I guess if you leave it on the tiny screen in the middle the ads round the outside keep changing which could be distracting but there were absolutely no ads on the full-screen mode.

Accepted - I'm not complaining over a free service.
It's only apparent when I watch 3/4 screen and want to view the program schedule, and in between switching channels.

I've just started re-using Zattoo, since I've got a new laptop - live video streaming, didn't work well on my old one - so I'll see what our demand will be (little one's happy she can now watch CBeebies), and older one will probably want to watch in bed - so may look into subscription - for improved picture quality and no ads.
(probably stay with free, though)
