does anyone have an idea how to get connected to Sunrise fixed line and internet before the B permit (the physical booklet) arrives?

The story so far: We spent a good part of Saturday pm in Shoppi/Tivoli figuring out which package to get. We finally agreed on the Sunrise CHF 80/month package for unlimited internet @ 15kbps + fixed line w/ free evening and weekend calls + mobile SIM + free 3G internet stick to tide you over until they have actually connected the line, which seems like a good deal (we'll most likely have Sat TV). All went swimmingly until the chap asked for our Bewilligungsnummer from the permit - which we don't have, as we've only just arrived and registered on Thursday.

Is there any way of getting connected to Sunrise without the actual B permit booklet? We have a rental agreement, a work contract, and EU passports. Or is Swisscom (who are happy to have us as customers with the above documents) the only solution?

i forged a b-permit number and it seemed to work ok with me. give them your passport number as b permit number. when you have to verify this with the postoffice (get the sim card delivered) you will then need to talk the postoffice woman into accepting this proof of identity. since the number matches, the woman will most likely accept it. you can increase your chances by sending to a rural branch where they probably don't deal with this stuff a lot.

I have heard of these companies taking a "deposit" until your B comes in.
You try that, make it very clear it is a "deposit" and you will expect it back at some point.
