Online web texts

Hiya,

Do you guys know if any operator here has online web gateway for texts / SMS?

These are popular in other countries but I cannot see this here (on swisscom and aldi-mobile).
Any hints?

as far as i remember i had this function with orange, but i think the service was limited to 30 per month or something, not too sure anymore

I'm with TalkTalk and I get 100 free Online texts per month.

Yep - I have the same thing with Orange.

Hi,

Can you please clarify two points?

1) What operators allow free Swiss texts?
2) What operators allow free international texts?

From the information I have it looks Coop offers 150 free Swiss texts, Orange 30 Swiss, Sunrise - 100 Swiss. No free internations SMS offered.

Yes, I'm interested in prepaid options if that makes a difference.

migros prepaid have a 'widget' for sending 5 free SMS per day from your computer. Otherwise, we find their rates very low...

Thanks, Swisspea. You mean, you need some widget, you can't just login to your Web account and send SMS from there?

I'm not sure if this helps, but you can send SMS from a Skype account, listing your mobile number as the originator. Not free, but around EUR0.09 for SMSs sent in Switzerland.

I know you mean by online conection with a computer, but if it helps at all I use Whatsapp on my phone, my family in mexico with any phone with internet option also have it and we send sms unlimited, just look that it requires data transfer, so you need to make sure you have a plan that includes data OR if your phone can search for wireless internet then it works too. I send them everyday pics or short videos of the boys and its a wonderful tool to stay in contact with them. no cost of downloading.

If you download the aplication make sure you have saved the number of your friend/family with the country and area code. once you have started the aplication in the favorites tab bar you will see who else from your contact list has the aplication. Ah before I forget the other person must have the aplication, internet etc.
