Power ON and DS Flashing means the modem is looking for the signal on the cable network
It will stay in this state forever until a signal is found
Generally, if it previously knew the signal, it will it again within about 15minutes.
For a brand new install, it must search a huge amount of frequencies. So let it continue....
The signal can only be found if
a) the modem is plugged into the wall socket, into the correct port
b) the wall socket is connected to the cable network
If, after 2 or 3 hours, it is still flashing DS, then call your provider's Tech Support again. You may have no signal in the house.
