We decided to cancel our Swisscom fixed line and internet and go with Cablecom new offer. Free calls to 34 countries is a great deal. Gave Swisscom the required two month notice, received written confirmation of the cut off date, all seemed ok. When we received the new cablecom equipment, they provided us with a phone number but we had the option of keeping the Swisscom number. So we sent them the paperwork with the date of the switch to coincide with when Swisscom was over.
Then we received a letter from Swisscom saying that they were not notified that we were transferring the number when we originally gave the notice, it was treated as a cancellation. But according to them, if we keep the number, we now need to give 2 more months notice ... or pay.
We called Cablecom, and they said, this is Swisscom's revenge. So we have decided to stick with the Cablecom number.
When I gave the Swisscom notice, I did say we were switching to Cablecom. No one told me there was a catch if you wanted to keep the number.
