Cablecom Comfort - English Channels

Hi - we signed up to Cablecom Comfort. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but how do we find out which of them have some english programmes?

Is it just this list:
http://www.upc-cablecom.ch/en/b2c/tv...ackage=comfort

OR are there other channels, which have some programmes which may also be in English? (eg if you hit the i (info) button and change language). Like could there be other shows on, which we might be able to get in English sometimes.

Thanks
Graham

Re: Cablecom Comfort - English Channels

OR alternatively... is there an online TV guide where we can see what programmes are going to be on, and what the language options are? Reason we ask is we stumbled across House MD on the other night, which had an English option on a channel we thuoght didnt cover English shows

Re: Cablecom Comfort - English Channels

We have cable and don't know of any 'english' tv guide. The english channels (US news and British entertainment channels) start at 148 and are grouped together moving up from here.

The info button is hit and miss. It depends on the channel and the show. I've had good luck with the Italian channels offering english for programmes that were originally in english.

Re: Cablecom Comfort - English Channels

SF usually shows foreign language programs in the original language. In the TV program there is a symbol for "Zweikanalton" (black and white dots), e.g. : http://www.tvprogramm.sf.tv/

Re: Cablecom Comfort - English Channels

TV Guide from the Cablecom website:

http://upc-cablecom.tvtv.ch/cbc/program/group?lang=en

Searchable listings including dual language (look for icon):

http://upc-cablecom.tvtv.ch/cbc/search/form?lang=en

Hope that helps

Pat

On your remote:
Menu > Settings+OK > Preference Settings+OK > then for first 2 (Menu Language and Soundtrack Language) use left/right arrows to select English.

Having English selected as default will mean that if a soundtrack is available in English, it will play in English - normally for programs originally made in English - offered on the 3 Swiss language channels and the occasional program on some of the other channels.

Just because, when you press "i", you can choose English, doesn't mean the program is offered with same language choice. It is the channel and not Cablecom that decide this.

Press "Guide" on your remote for on-screen program guide, or alternatively press OK on the channel you're viewing and use the down arrow to view later programs on that channel.

Re: Cablecom Comfort - English Channels

I have the Cablecom Comfort for about 3 years already.
The answer is YES.
You can always scan through all the channels and sometimes the other channels may have an english audio channel option.Mostly this would
happen where the movie is english anyway and has been dubbed into
any other random language.

Re: Cablecom Comfort - English Channels

Excellent .. .so
1) I've the English channels (know them)
2) I keep an eye on some which have that symbol for 2 languages
3) Pot luck - if I see a movie / TV show chance it might be in English too

Great, cheers.
