Pre paid cell phone for 6 days

We will be visiting Switzerland for a short holiday.
I have a smartphone, and I have read here and there(without concrete info) that you can buy a prepaid sim with DATA 3G for 2 CHF/day

So if I buy a 20CHF sim, with 20CHF, it should last me for 10 days for unlimited 3G data.

Can anybody point me to some plans from the operators which have good 3G coverage in Switzerland.

Since we will be spending 3 days in Austria, then 6 days in switzerland, and then 3 days again in austria, I am also thinking of getting a sim in austria, which incidently is 5 EU only with some deals.

both have decent coverage. However, I'm not sure if you can actually buy a SIM-card with an Indian passport if you don't live in Switzerland, as it's a legal requirement to register the card to your name and address.

Re: Pre paid cell phone for 6 days

orange will do it.. they just need your passport for it. Get a sim for 10CHF and 2CHF a day for internet up to 150MB a month or 5CHF a day for 1G a month.

The orange shop in Zurich airport is really good, one guy specifically is very helpful. He sold me the card and help me to get internet to work on my phone. He did not have to do that and he speak very good English. I found Swisscom less helpful.

he asked for good coverage - Orange's coverage is by far the worst of the 3 providers.

I find the coverage ok in Zurich and just outside. It depends on where OP is going to be.

http://www.lebara-mobile.ch/en/inter...your_phone.php if your usage is very limited, i.e. not more than 120 MB/month. Don't forget to cancel your subscription upon leaving Switzerland.

for someone who comes visit Switzerland on a vacation, Orange is definitely not the provider to go with. He'll also be travelling to Austria, meaning he'll probably go through Eastern Switzerland on the way there where Orange has pretty much zero coverage (I know, I live there - I don't get an Orange signal in my house, neither 3G nor GSM - EDGE still being completely absent with Orange).

Thanks for your help.
We will either stay in Valais, or somewhere near Grindelwald.
There is a slim change of staying in east or ticono.
It depends on which chalet owners respond by 10th August.

So how much will 1GB of data cost, thats the total data we expect to use (mapping and all)
If we get a chalet with internet access, that it falls down further

not cheap - you'd have to buy a normal prepaid SIM card and get the 39 Fr. for 2gb package

Sunrise is cheaper here - you can get 250mb for 7.50 for their prepaid packages. Sunrise has decent coverage as well.
