I would say somewhere like Conrad (www.conrad.ch) they have shops but only in Luzern and Zürich which is not very useful for you.

I would also try Pusterla (www.pusterla.ch) which again is in Zürich.

I don't know anywhere in Vaud, sorry.

Don't care where they are as long as they ship in Switzerland. Could be Germany or anywhere else as well.

Found it hard to navigate those two sites, or only found moulded cables.

I guess I need the the equivalent of Radio Shack or Radio Spares or Maplin (even though they're shit now anyway).

I'll ask the guy who runs our electrical workshop on Monday. He constructed a specialist adapter from 9-pin a few weeks back.

You'll find everything you could need here:
https://www.distrelec.ch/d-sub-haube...steckverbinder

If you're looking for a kit to build your own cable these are very nice (building in a filter or something...):

I'm curious about what still connects using an interface like this? I haven't seen one of these since the early 90s (USB killed it off)...

Here's one on eBay that ships worldwide. Not cheap, though:

I still have loads of scientific lab equipment that only has serial ports. It must be cheaper. I get all my odd RS232 requirements from B&B electronics in Ireland.

And really annoying because they only use 3 of the 9 pins so could have just put it on XLR!

Re: where to buy serial connectors

Hi,

Another very good link for 'Maplin' bits is www.lindy.ch
Have a look at :
http://www.lindy.ch/de/kabel-adapter...pol-an-9-pol-/ for example of their serial cables.

You need to create an account, and there is a fixed postage of 6Sfr per order, so wait until you need a few bits then put in the order.

We have got usb hubs, usb exteder cables, audio cables HDMI extenders ...
all good quality.
