Hi Chetnik,

You can set up a Swiss iTunes account for free (just use a different email address to your UK one) and set payment option to 'none' or 'vouchers', you can still download free apps, so that should sort you out.

Like putting cocaine in one eye and Valium in the other, there are highs and lows but it always ends in tears...

Re: BBB Global iPlayer

I've signed up for a month just now & had a quick flick through the content.

Quick instant reaction: It's all a bit 'BBC1'.

And some really glaring omissions.
I did a few random searches off the top of my head: No HIGNFY, No Top Gear (yet) No Doctor Who, No recent drama i.e The Shadow Line, No QI, No Later with Jools & a TON of very old series & programmes.

I appreciate that this is a test run - a showcase if you like, but they'd better start coming up with a normal everyday version like the UK one pretty sharpish or this'll be the only month's subscription they see from me.

Just downloaded and had a look at the programmes on offer, and it reminds me a bit of that old classic "bbc prime". It's not so much the bbc iplayer, more "bbc prime iplayer"

My iPlayer downloaded from the App Store in seconds (wi-fi). if you want BBC and other channels on your iPad, try the Teleboy App. This is not available outside Switerland...
Great tip. It works a treat on the iPad. Just trying to get the Symbian version working on my nokia now.

Or alternatively, sign up to My Private Network (www.my-private-network.co.uk/), pay 5 per month, and watch anything you like, anywhere you like.

Thanks. I guess this would work on the iPad where I can install iPlayer, but it wouldn't work on my nokia.

Like it has been said a lot of people would rather the money go to the BBC who are actually making these programs than some VPN service provider.

That's as maybe, but whilst their service is still somewhat intermittent, MPN offers a seamless service ...

The service isn't intermittent. It just isn't very good.
