I had very poor experiences with the staff in the stores too, but found the people on the phone helplines much more helpful.
I also found I had to push Swisscom a little to get things done - they would give me dates for things to be installed and switched on, and these deadlines would pass without anything happening. However, every time I rang their support line, the 'technical problem' that was causing the 'delay' was miraculously solved instantly - that is to say, they clicked the button on my account that someone had forgotten to click on the correct day
Don't be afraid to keep asking them to do things - they seem to have a large army of support staff, and you're paying for them with your subscription!
