Technical SKY help

We've recently moved to just outside Geneva and want to get SKY installed.

I still have a SKY+ subscription in the UK at my house(it was part of the rental agreement with my tenant). However for some bizarre reason they've managed to lose the box and card and don't wish to use it anymore.

So I've changed the address to my parents home.

I can get a replacement SKY+ box independently but will need a new SKY card direct from SKY.

Once I have them both the box and the card here is it simply a case of plugging the card into the box or is there more to it than that ?

(my concern is I don't want to phone SKY because they may well spot I'm not in the UK)

thanks

Re: Technical SKY help

get a new card sent to your uk address - phone sky thru skype or use a UK phone to do this as the number does show on the caller details.

get another box from ebay/avforums etc. best to get a 80cm dish, but you can get away with the mini dish but expect the picture to break up with bad weather.

then its plug and play

It's the card that's the fly in the ointment.
There is someone in Geneva who can supply one and a 'search' I'm sure will bring up the contact details.
If you can use a UK address, it will be considerably cheaper.

You will need to phone Sky and get the new card paired to the new box (if you subscribe to Premium channels such as Sky Movies etc.). Otherwise you can plug and watch.
If you need to call Sky, always hide your caller ID (good idea to do this anyway) and don't let on that you are not in UK. Use saynoto0870 (or whatever it's callled) to get a "proper" number for Sky.
