Sunrise raises subscription prices, cuts included volume in half

Well well well. Apparently, Sunrise is doing everything to get rid of their customers:

http://www1.sunrise.ch/Mobilabos-cb4...de_CH-CHF.html

The new subscription prices are insane - they now cost the same as Swisscom but explicitly ban tethering and VoIP and don't include any SMS.
In addition to raising their prices, they also cut the included data volume in half.

Their roaming tariffs are about 5x higher than Swisscom's.

What are they trying to prove? That crappy customer service + an inferior network equals higher prices?

good luck with that.

It's better for customers if Orange don't buy Sunrise, you say? We'll see about that...

Re: Sunrise raises subscription prices, cuts included volume in half

I just resigned with them: 2 weeks without internet and they were not capable of fixing it.
Plus the bullshit given, the customer service lies, the retention service lies and finally the "false offers" they made to keep me customer-
Instead of actually doing it they cancelled any support request (letting me to start again contacting support from 0)...

And now they *try* to charge me 300chf for early resiliation fee
(it's indicated in terms and condition an early charge, but not exactly the amount).

(of course I'll go to the small claim court with them).

There's an "ombudsman service" but I read their "recommendations" are they are quite... not fair. Anyway they are nearly useless!

Anyway sunrise, what a pain-
Now with the new provider it's already much much better! Connection is more stable, faster. No problems with router.

i might switch to the prepaid with the surf option. i don't call/sms that much and really just need the data tariff...

so far, they haven't gone after the evil abusers. However, this is apparently changing now, as they prominently tell every new subscriber that VoIP and Tethering is officially banned.

The joke is, that it's also banned with the data options they offer for the mobile subscriptions :-)

That's what they're taught at Swiss business schools. It's how most other businesses operate here, so why not Sunrise?

because Sunrise is already facing an up-hill battle against Swisscom. So far, they've been able to semi-decently hold their own by being cheaper.

Raising prices to Swisscom's level without at the same time also offering the same kind of customer service and network quality is suicide. I doubt they teach that suicide is painless at Swiss business schools.

By the way, the "Evil abusers" (=Swisscom?) have changed their contract: its no more automatically renewed* as it is for sunrise or orange.

I still dislike Swisscom but they've made a move to the customer here.

*meaning that if you have a 2 year contract and you forget to send them recommended resign letter on month 22, you're renewed for extra 2 years!!

Sorry. Let me rephrase my post for you;

Hu hu. Can you imagine if there were a conversation a bit like this.

Get it? No, really, get it? It would be like them, like, being a bit ironic, because now they're going to overcharge their customers anyway. Hu hu.
