I have no idea what has gotten into the Swiss Technology companies off late but I just received this email a few minutes ago... Of course, I'm dancing naked in the streets of Riehen in Joy!

Off topic: I also received a refund from Sunrise on my cell phone connection recently because I yelled at them and then sent them a fax (2 months ago) calling them douge bags who charged me late fees and incorrect charges...

This will be possible as we are going to increase the speed of your Internet subscription “DSL mini”: from max. 1’000/100 to max. 2’000/200 kbit/s. This increase in performance is completely free of charge – your subscription will continue to cost CHF34.00 per month.

And you don’t have to do a thing!

The conversion will take place automatically and will have been completed by 30 Sep-tember 2011 at the latest. You don’t have to do a thing; you can even continue to use your current router.

This change will make everything faster: surfing, downloading and uploading data, send-ing and receiving larger e-mails, etc. We hope that you will continue to enjoy surfing the Internet with Swisscom!

Yes, Cablecom upgraded all 20mbps subscribers to 25 earlier this year free of charge...

Sunrise downgrade 750 to 65 early this year

I saw a wonderful quote in 20min that went something like this:

"After the Swisscom Upgrade, upc cablecom is now only 50x faster, instead of 100x faster"

When I started my Sunrise internet subscription, it was 2MB. It's now 15MB and I'm still paying the same rate.

The lines get upgraded, the speed increases, the companies market it as them being wonderful, giving you something for nothing.
