42" to 46" new TV buying advice?

I am in the market for a 42" to 46" TV. Plasma I don't want so that leaves LCD screens. Go for LED backlit ones or the standard non LED backlit ones? Any of you bought TV recently? What make/model did you go for?

So Digitec the best place to buy from for price and service? Been to places like Fust, Medimark, Interdiscount and the sales people seem really slimy and not very clued up.

Watching TV?

General TV, DVDs/BluRay but no gaming. Might want to connect it to my computer once in a while too.

The viewing distance from the TV will be around 280cm. My research indicates 42" and 46" both will work fine.

Re: 42" to 46" new TV buying advice?

there are lots and lots of websites and forums dedicated to this already

We recently bought a 47" samsung LED tv and are very happy with it, got it from interdiscount, it was closest, but it was cheaper in mediamarkt.

according to the forums I should have bought a panasonic plasma (iirc) as they give the best picture etc etc but I really couldn't see what people where on about.

goto interdiscount (they leave the remotes with the tv's so you can have a play) and play around with the tv's, change the screen mode from dynamic and compare the pictures

Re: 42" to 46" new TV buying advice?

This TV is trending on toppreise at the moment:

That price for 47" is almost silly. For that price it can break in two years and you wouldn't even feel bad.
