Actually analysts and industry observers were expecting for a long time for apple to release a new phone. So apple is not really into the obsolete the product game as much. I guess 3GS will be phased out (as ios 5 will not support it fully) but Iphone 4 should be good to go till the next release.

As a product phones are maturing now (thanks apple) and thus the new phone doesn't only mean the phone (H/W) feature but also the OS based feature on phone (like cloud). So if you have Iphone 4 it should not be that bad for you. At the same time for people who bought 3GS two years back or earlier, it is really time to change.

I find it much better than Samsung or other Android phone where every phone kind of has different OS version and different version of app support and difficult to know what is latest and good. Good old apple, we love it, don't we..

never bought any Apple products myself, but I'm an investor, so yeah Go Iphone 5 or whatever the next number is....

Cant be much bigger though as they want to keep the moniker "Retina" for their screens, which requires a minimum amount of pixels per inch to be classed as one.

I hope we havent waited 16 months for the same form factor and screen size. No matter what the feature set, that would certainly be a disappointment to me.
