Gave me a few problems, took many many hours to put my music back on, I had to interupt 1/2 way through because I needed my phone. Unfortunately it thought the backup hadn't completed and started all again (I could have canceled the backup restore, but I found that out later). Eventually I synched it with a few small playlists, then left the main one overnight.
It also reset all my apps, restored a whole load I didn't use. I lost a couple of pictures that were on the phone, overall, iOS updates seemed to have been handled better in the past.

So with the new OS we have...
Being forced to use iCloud on iOS5 because many things depend on it, KeyChain and Mail syncing has been removed in iCloud and MobileMe no longer works. Not impressed to no longer have VLC working, I guess they really don't like free stuff. But wait, what was Jobs' justification for not using Flash again? | Quote: | | | | "Adobe's Flash products are 100% proprietary," he responds. "They are only available from Adobe, and Adobe has sole authority as to their future enhancement, pricing, etc. While Adobe's Flash products are widely available, this does not mean they are open, since they are controlled entirely by Adobe and available only from Adobe. By almost any definition, Flash is a closed system." | | | | | Riiiiight.

| | | | | Good point about the reasoning behind not using Flash
I never used MobileMe though, so wasn't too bothered, and I only ticked the mimum for the synching of the iCloud, I mean apart from backing up my contacts I have no other use for it as I'm boycotting all other apple products (trying at least ).
But overall I'm impressed with a big improvement in the OS I think, it's the little things in the end that make the big things great! Just being able to edit my recent calls so the wife doesn't get suspcious is a win for me! Other things like the notification pop ups being removed and replaced by a subtle slide down box at the top is great!

I just think it's unfortunate that it's a huge Android rip off |

But this was the observation of a few friends of mine.

Oh great, it removed my Spotify and with that a few hundred synced songs. Oh well.
Other than that, not a very exiting upgrade. I was expecting a more business like lock screen with weather, stocks, upcoming meetings and stuff.

I upgraded to iOS5 yesterday and have noticed a significantly higher battery drain. Not sure if the two are linked, is anyone else getting that?

Location based reminders are not available on 3GS. Thieving money grabbing apple gypsies.

Now that was easy, all the apps are there as well, that never happened before. Normally I wish I had not updated, this time it's all fine

I read that the reason you don't have location based updates is because the GPS chip in the newer iPhones is a lot better at monitoring your location without killing your battery
