Hi,
Please, help me by sharing some experiences (especially Sunrise customers with Blackberry and BB Bold 9700 users): are you able to use BB-Messenger/Web-browsing/appworld just over WiFi outside Switzerland? Does Roaming have to be switched on all the time?
Thanks!
Angelrik
PS: not needed to read, but the reason for my question is explained below.
I am a proud owner of a Blackberry Bold 9700 (OS 6.0.0.534) since 1.5 years with a sunrise contract + BB option.
The only BIG disadvantage is, that I have (although trying hard) never been able to connect to Wifi when I am not in Switzerland.
A) In Switzerland:
1 - "Mobile Network" off & WiFi on gives me acces to BIS
B) In Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Netherlands:
1 - "Mobile Network" off & WiFi on does not give me acces to BIS
2 - "Mobile Network" on & "Data services" on & "Data while roaming" off & Wifi on -> No access to BIS
3 - "Mobile Network" on & "Data services" on & "Data while roaming" on & Wifi on -> access to BIS! Almost all data is routed over WiFi (so WiFi is working), however, every time that the wifi signal is weaker than the wireless signal, the data is routed over the wireless network (roaming). This is not desired!
The problem is likely to be:
- A Sunrise BIS option problem
- A BB Bold 9700 problem
- A software version problem (not likely, since I tried many)
- A wrong setting on the BB
- A wrong setting on most hotspots (firewall?)
- A broken phone (unlikely, since my partner has the same phone, Sunrise, BB option, same software AND the sampe problem)!
I hope that your reactions can help me to narrow down the possible causes. Contacting Sunrise does not bring so much, since I usually have to explain the "technician" first that you need a Blackberry option in order to connect to BIS and then what is BIS etc.

Contacting Blackberry costs immediately 50 USD...
Thanks!
