many thanks, | | | | | Your router needs to DHCP/DNS off the Motorola, do not try to assign addresses manually to other equipment if the Motorola is the DHCP server.

After the device is powered on, press it to reset the device or
restore to factory default settings.
0-3 seconds: reset the device
3-6 seconds: no action 6 seconds above: restore to factory default settings (this is used
when you can not login to the router, e.g. forgot the password)
6500W has a 802.11b WLAN

i tried restoring to factory settings (pressed for more then 6 sec) the LEDs shows the router is reset but still i cant access it via ip address.
it will be really helpful if you can let me know what settings i have to configure if i am able to access the setting by chance just to setup the wifi n/w with encryption key.

I assume you are accessing the BIPAC via ethernet cable, not wireless. Your PC / laptop using the wired Ethernet cable must be assigned an IP for example 192.168.1.20 mask 255.255.255.0 manually, and then the resetted BIPAC can be accessed.
Sorry, gotta go ( will be in Basel tomorrow ).

Yes I access it with the cable when trying to access to it. By assigning the ip to laptop you mean I should assign this ip manually to LAN connection properties. Currently its set to obtain automatically

Try settings DNS manually:
DNS1 208.67.222.222
DNS2 208.67.220.220
and report back.

Setting those DNS does'nt even identify n/w.. no n/w access.. |

Set WAN port of BIPAC 6500W for DHCP ( obtain IP automatically ), no need PPPOE.
Ensure WAN port of BIPAC 6500W is connected by wired Ethernet cable to LAN port of the Motorola.
