Hi, We are moving to Zug. The apartment lists availability of an ISDN connection. What is the most reliable AND fastest connections options in the area? Should I buy my router (cable or DSL) in the states, and bring it with me? Thanks in advance.

ISDN ( Integrated Services Digital Network ) is too slow and outdated perhaps best for ( digital ) voice telephony. Check / ask if there is a socket for Cable ( ie DataZUG ) or analog phone ( for Bluewin xDSL by Swisscom )

...Orrr you could just buy a router over here, and forego all that hassle. Everything is more expensive here, but you can find a decent router at reasonable price, and it saves you some headache... |

Hi, thanks for the info.
Sounds a bit different than the US, but something I can manage.
I intend to get internet up and running, watch tv from the US over a slingbox.

I was surprised but it seems not all electronics are more expensive in switzerland

I don't think you should bring a router from the U.S., not only due to the 220 - 240 V / 50 HZ, Companies here most likely will give you a router for free or for very low money at the time of the signing of the contract. Also whenever you need to contact customer service, things will go smoother when using one of the routers provided by them.
