Unfortunately it seems that the Sky coverage is actually better than what the BBC has been doing.

If only I thought that it made sense to get Sky HD.
Getting Ben Edwards in exchange for Martin Brundle is a really bad deal for BBC viewers. Instead of humorous well-informed insight, we get sub-Murray shoutiness. Not a fan.

Re: Watching F1 in 2012

I was very happy to see Martin Brundle on Sky.

I only ever watch the pit walk and the first couple of minutes of the race.

But I had to record a 2 hour program and a 3 hour program to get 10 minutes of entertainment.

It's subjective of course, but having watched both at the weekend, I prefer the commentary on Sky, but their build-up and post-race analysis is awful. The BBC did a much better job of that. Some wag on Twitter summed it up as the BBC coverage is like hanging out with your mates, whereas Sky is like sitting through a Powerpoint presentation.
