Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

I have never been a big fan of comedies, but I like a lot Silicon Valley and The Crazy Ones, probably because I can relate to many of the situations depicted in the shows (advertising & tech).

Also, Turn (on AMC) is a good drama about spies during the american revolutionary war.

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

Having got totally bored with Swiss/German TV I increased my cable channels to include UK TV but find it soooooo boring and have now reverted to watching nearly everything on www.couchtuner.eu
My favorites have been and continue to be:

Breaking Bad
Scandal
House of Cards
Suits
The Following
Nashville
Revenge (season 3 is quite ridiculous now)
Grays Anatomy
Homeland

I really should check out Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones to see what all the hype is about

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

Anyone else watching the new 24 series? This time the action goes down in London and got off to a thrilling start last week.

Despite my reservations that "Jack Bauer" could no longer cut the mustard, the boy done good!

24: Live Another Day

Can't wait to watch the 2nd episode tomorrow night!

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

Just started (and quickly finished) the first season of Silicon Valley.

Amazing show! I'm suprised I didn't find it earlier as I'm a huge Mike Judge fan.

Finally a show about nerds done properly (BBTheory is terrible!)

Amazing show, and I'm glad it got some Emmy nominations!

I was positively surprised also by the pilot of Extant with Halle Berry, produced by Steven Spielberg. Rough plot summary: astronaut comes back to her family after a 13-month solo mission in space. And she's pregnant.

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

The new Penny Dreadful - really good. Anyone seen it?

Most so-so TV series run out of steam after - if not during - the 1st series so I give up on them pretty quickly. Wondering how true detective will do without McConaughey.. Harrelson was brilliant - good mix those two.

The ones that I have continued to watch are:

Sherlock Holmes
The Good Wife
Game of thrones
Boardwalk Empire
Downton Abbey
Miss Marple (Julia Mckenzie)

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

Sadly finished season 1 of Silicon Valley---possibly the funniest season finale I have seen.

Moved on to Fargo----almost finished it in one sitting--very well done!! My Breaking Bad replacement. Hopefully the 2nd season is just as good!
