Just seen a Beeb, sexed-up trailer for a new series, starting next Tues. - The Missing.
The trailer has certainly guaranteed my interest for the first episode, at least.
James Nesbitt stars. | Quote: | | | | | ...and the thing stopping you from watching them from the beginning of Season 1 is...? | | | | | Time.

As an afterthought, it's the same with Downton, too. | | | | | Homeland Series 4 is a bit of restart. You just have to know that Carrie is a wacky weirdo and that child she has is from a POW/Terrorist/Weirdo/Crackhead/Hangman player/You-name-it etc.

I really like Téa Leoni in her new show "Madam Secretary". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3501074/

I don't always have time to watch everything I want to, as it is, and do sometimes record via Zattoo, but most things slip off the 20 day cliff before I have chance to watch them. I have two episodes of a new Aussie series, that I need to watch before the third comes along, but that's looking unlikely.
I really am unlikely to be able to afford many hours to catch up on 3 series of Homeland, which is why I asked if I could just start afresh with series 4.
I'm only grateful that I have a lifetime sub. on my film channel, then I don't feel bad when I haven't seen one for a few weeks.
Anyone with house, garden, family, pets, vehicles will understand what I mean ...... oh, and work.

You can still watch the shows when you get time, you'll just take longer to get through them.

Reminds me of a scene in Ocean's 11 (Clooney remake), when the explosives guy is sat in a hotel room watching a live TV broadcast of them blowing up a casino/hotel tower for demolition, that's actually taking place in real life, behind him, through the balcony doors.

I think what your problem is: You want to watch to many shows at the same time. It is like the todays youth, thy to not go just to one party but to six, ten, or even more at the same evening, just to not miss anything.
Pick a few and stick to them. You cannot go to Bali and be at the same time in Veracruz.

I used to be a one show person, but as I get older and boredom sets in (and less partys to go to per night ), my library has expanded quite significantly.
Definately prefer watching shows after the season is over, so I don't have to wait to see how plots develope (for linear shows).
Even non-linear shows, if watched in order, one can really appreciate the character developement over the course of the running (for well written shows).
Right now Bob's Burgers is my top watch (just finished seasons 3)---the show just keeps on getting better!
Started "The Middle", is alright, has a few moments, but more of of a time wasting show.

I gave Homeland a try, but could barely finish watching the entire season 1, mainly because an overstretched plot, in my opinion. Probably not my cup of coffee.

First World Problem: Every Monday morning I live in fear that my Slingbox has failed to record the latest Walking Dead from my tv in South Carolina during the night and I will have to track it down somewhere.
How do those of you with no Slingbox watch it? (Just in case my nightmare comes true!) Do you watch it on your computer or is it actually on television here?

With regards to Homeland, you really should watch the original Israeli series "Hatufim" (Prisoners Of War). You can easily find it online with english subs (there are 2 seasons).
