Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

Battlestar Galactica
The Sopranos
Entourage
Lost
The West Wing
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
-- If you can get ur hands on it, there's only one season but its good ass sh-t!
Brothers & Sisters -- I really liked this show as well
Flashforward -- Also only one season but you'd wish there was more of it
Lie to Me -- Only 3 seasons..such a pity they give shows like this the axe but stuff like Gossip Girl makes it to its gazillionth season
White Collar -- Pretty good show as well.. tho we lost interest mid season 2, well....to be honest my better half lost interest..hmph...
The Good Wife
Fringe
Downton Abbey
An Idiot Abroad

Note: The first 6 shows from the top are the epitome of awesomeness!

yes, it's good, it's clever.
grimm?? the serie?
it's really...cheesy, low budget...

Every episode is about some human who can change into an animal.
Once it's the rat man, once it's the mouse man, once it's the pig man, once it's the wolf man, etc...
The whole thing consists of their face changing for 2seconds into a hybrid "animal/human", like pig/human face.

it's watchable when there's nothing else but erm... nothing more (in my opinion)...

Also that "grimm cop" is always treating his "wolf pal" like a dog...

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

OK, I've not read all the comments, so apologise if these have been mentioned previously, but, my friend, there's a chance that they haven't, and I don't want that possibility happen to you. Not on my watch.

The Wire
The Sopranos
Boardwalk Empire
Friday Night Lights (not watched myself yet, but meant to be very, very good).
Lie to Me
Dexter

All of these (bar the one I mentioned) are superb, really very good. The Wire is my favourite, although I did find it a wee bit tricky to get into the lingo at first, it's a proper treat when you do. And your man from Game of Thrones is in it too (later series.... sorry, seasons) - the eunuch, whatever he was called.

Just reading this back, it looks like a rant. But, you know yourself, when you're totally sure something is right - it needs saying.

Don't let me down soldier...

I just love "Mad Men," not to mention the eye candy that is Jon Hamm.

Have you guys checked out "House of Lies" new comedy series about management consultants. Some good laughs, but not for the young ones to watch

The gold standard, atm, is BBC's Sherlock
+1 for Sherlock! Definitely a great show.

We've also been watching House of Lies, the Good Wife, The Firm, Mentalist, Unforgettable, House (M.D.) and Alcatraz (which might get old quickly).

I was excited about Luck because of the cast, but the pilot put me off.

It's already starting to get a bit old for me, after a great start with a totally unique twist on escaped prisoners it's fast becoming predictable.
Another thing is they seem to have a built in expiry date for the show, once they round up the 63's, what's left to do ? Only possible plot line at this time is going after the people/group/whatever...that took them from Alcatraz.

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

not a big series fan, but i can tell you what i enjoyed so far:

Weeds- first two seasons- absolutly GREAT insane fun, clever, outrageous at times......now i am at season 7 (3-7 seasons are a bit too much for me, not as great as the beggining, but got hooked so......yeah)
Rome- watching the first season now- intrigues,politics......not bad....
i used to love Six feet under.......
and Avatar The Last Airbender (cartoon series) is GREAT FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY)))

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

Homeland looks good.

On Sky Player at the moment I am watching:
Weeds (6th season I think)
The Wire (season 1, second time around for me)
Blue Bloods (season 2)

On BBC iPlayer
Inspector Montalbano (Italian with English subtitles)
Mrs Brown's Boys (just finished second season)

Need to catch up on The Mentalist. I also used to watch The Closer, Castle and The Chicago Code and will do next time they are on. I've really enjoyed some of the BBC series like Sherlock, Inside Man (Men?) and Zen.
