Don't know if this has been mentioned before:
The Americans (on Netflix). Absolutely addictive and pretty darn good acting. They've just won an Emmy for one of their guest roles

However I think it's still not technically legal to download copyrighted material.

This is England - the whole series.
Happy, heartbreaking and just great. I hope it will come back for another series.
Watch it from the beginning, you get to love the people.

Ratings took a hit with series 11 so I expect that prompted the decision. Plus this rubbish about "making way for new drama". If they want to do that then get rid of EastEnders or Casualty for heaven's sake - they've been around forever and get similar or lower viewing figures than New Tricks.
Hopefully Amazon Prime or Netflix might pick it up - then we could watch the repeats on the Beeb - same as happened with Ripper Street. | This user would like to thank Medea Fleecestealer for this useful post: | |

Yes, Eastenders has become complete and utter tosh! The storylines are ridiculous, the characters laughable, and not in a good way.
I cheered when Carole drove off on her motorbike the other day and last night was willing Ian to jump, and take the rest of the cast with him.
Yes, I know, I am still watching it, if only to see how low it can get, and how long it lasts.
I am missing Ripper Street, I do hope it comes back for another series.

Seriously, it has got worse, it is as tosh as tosh can be, and then some.

Second the, This is England series, really well acted, dramatic and realistic.
On a lighter note, Cradle to Grave, based on the book, Going to Sea in a Sieve by Danny Baker.
Being a 70ies kid myself, I can relate only too well to his antics and thought processes, all in all a fun watch.
Am also enjoying Worlds wierdest events, random and bizarre subjects, well put together.

loving the new tv shows that are basically a mirror image of my university day trio (prison break, heroes, etc)
they are:
limitless (basically the sequel to the movie with the guy taking NZT and solving crimes and stuff).
blindspot (hot naked girl tattoo'd up and dropped in the middle of times square with no memory...) also helps that the lead is lady sif from the marvel's Thor movies
heroes reborn (heroes...only reborn...) the graphics leave a bit to be desired but im holding out on this one.

If you liked the Americans, you might also like Quantico (Sundays on ABC).
Some TV series I recommend are Orphan Black, Deadwood, Silicon Valley and The Good Wife. | Quote: | | | | | Don't know if this has been mentioned before:
