as far as I can tell, no-one has recommended "Archer" yet. Absolutely hilarious, if you like that sort of thing, which you may not.
It's a comedy animated graphic novel about spies. I watch it with Zappa Jr (25) and we have to make sure that Mrs Zappa is elsewhere as our helpless laughter irritates her so much.
Very rude, very nihilist. Totally wtf. Totally politically incorrect. Also very well drawn and acted.

I assumed I mentioned it, but could have forgotten. All your points are spot on--all the great vulgarity and dirty humor of other big animations---but the writing is far superior than anything else---excellent writing. On my watching of the series now!

You can find it here for now http://www.starz.com/originals/ashvs...ca162c3a340a67
BTW Starz are the producers, not dodgy (I think)

There aren't that many series that I've stuck with. Not getting past the first series is a problem, as I just lose interest.
The Good Wife is back on Channel 4 this week. Seven series and all have been very good.
Others I have stuck with over time -
GOT
Sherlock Holmes (tho' the xmas one wasn't great)
Penny Dreadful (new & really good)
Homeland
The Sopranos
West Wing (Sorkin's writing only)
Mad Men
Downton Abbey (Smith is the star)
The Wire
Hill Street Blues (classic)
The Hour
Wallander (K. Branagh)
Luther
The Bridge
.. and I am 5 episodes in: Series 1 of House Of Cards with the excellent K. Spacey.

I was looking forward to the latest series of Luther - asked for the DVD for Christmas. It had two episodes - TWO !!! So, what's next?
Apparently "Manhattan" has not had a mention yet. We like. About the making of the bomb, not sex in the city. It is a bit odd as it is partially fictional. So, Oppenheimer and Bohr are in, portrayed accurately, as far as I can tell, but almost everyone else is invented. However the series is checked by both a historian of science and a physicist, so it rings true. There is lots of human interest, and well written and acted, so it is not just for geeks.
And we're enjoying "Wolf Hall" too. A retelling of the story of Henry the Eighth & Ann Boleyn. Beautiful period drama, grittier than "the Tudors". Odd to see Daniel Lewis from Homeland playing the king (very well, with a flawless accent, as far as I can tell).

Love Luther, I do hope there is more.
And Damian Lewis is actually English, hence the accent. |

Re. accent. who'd a thunk it. So I'll have to say his American accent is very good, as far as I can tell. Do Americans agree?

Hopefully they'll get more made.
He'd make an excellent James Bond |

Breaking Bad. It's worth subscribing to Netflix for that alone...

Elementary is good - seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix. White Collar is entertaining too - a bit like Hustle I suppose!

BBC's War and Peace was bloody marvellous. Highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.
And it's time to elbow-wipe the dust of your foil hat as the X-Files is back.
The truth is.. exactly where we left it |

Jessica Jones on Netflix is good - a bit bleak but good. David Tennant plays truly repellent horribly well.
When is XFiles? Used to love it. Have heard mixed reviews of the new episodes however...
