The Bridge (the original) is worth a watch if you haven't caught it - Netflix has the first two seasons.
And I'm (a bit) ashamed to say I like Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. Although I suspect, like Arrow, I watch it for the eye candy rather than the acting chops.
I have hidden shallows....
I've just started Lucifer on Amazon Prime. It's a lot more lightweight than the Gaiman sources (and Tom Ellis looks nowt like Bowie) but it's quite fun, in a formulaic Detective-and-the-Devil kind of way. It could do with being a lot darker though - more honestly full on. It skirts.
Constantine is fabulous however - dark, bleak, icky and very, very funny.

An impressive and sharp first episode of 'The Night Manager'. I really got stuck into it.
Has anyone else seen it?

if you like foreign films (have time for subtitles which require full concentration!) 'engrenages' is very good, no one does intrigue and bed hopping like the french
It can be found on primewire.ag if its not on netflix.

Has anyone else seen it? | | | | | I'm recording the series, based upon an excellent review from this guy... http://tvkev.co.uk/content/%C2%A33-m...rs-value-money ... and an interview with the lead actor, but haven't watched the first episode yet. Apparently the book was about drugs trafficking but they've changed it to arms trafficking for the tv series, and the author is very happy with the result.
I worked a year as a hotel night manager, so can well believe anything that goes on in that setting.

+1 for 'Engrenages', and 'Baron Noir' is a great new French series! We also liked 'Salamander' (Belgian/Dutch, with subtitles).
We're enjoying 'Billions', and have just watched the first episode of 'The Night Manager'. I found it a bit slow, but still got into it.

My all time favorites:
- Parks & Recreation
- House of cards
- Orange is the new black
- Bob's burger (animation)
- Breaking Bad
If you like old series, Friends and Sienfeld cannot be missed.

I quite like Person of Interest, but Jim Caveziel's stoic man-of-few-words routine gets a little old at times! There's an interesting morality at its core I think though.

I've recorded it - what a cast! Olivia Coleman, Toms Hiddleston and Holland and Hugh Laurie! Plus the tall angular lady from the should-have-been-lots-better Man from UNCLE reboot.
I shall savour it when/if Little Rufus ever again goes to bed at a reasonable time.... |

An 'old' series I re-enjoy nowadays is 'Cold Feet'.

Some of the "one episode" baddies were a bit lame - "I've got a superpower so I'm going to do something dumb". Loved the episode with Hamil - especially his "I'm your father line" - and Wentworth Miller is a great bad guy.
I wasn't paying that much attention to the whole thing so the twist was more unexpected.

The 4th and final series of Fresh Meat started on Ch 4 last week. A few chuckles, but not quite up to the standard of previous series. I'll stick with it though.

If you like Miller as Captain Cold, he's now in yet another Arrow/Flash Spin-off, Legends of Tomorrow. I thought the opener was a bit naff, but see how it progresses.

Laurie's sharp understated brooding evil Roper is a thing of joy - perfection .. and as for Tom Hollander - big fan of his anyway - subtle scary, just brilliant! Sigh!
Olivia Coleman - can that woman get any better? I could watch her act for ever and a day and never tire of her. She is simply marvellous..
Hiddleston is fine; he just doesn't have the best part |

Olivia Coleman is truly brilliant, in everything. Did you watch Broadchurch? Magnificent. It's on Netflix if you didn't catch it.
I look forward to watching this!

Yes, seen Broadchurch.
The visually beautiful period drama Marco Polo on Netflix is very good so far. I am 3 episodes in, series 1.
Anyone else been watching it?

Just recently I came across Deutschland 83, which was really good. BBC or ITV, don't remember. However, so far only 6 episodes, but there is a rumour they will make a second season called Deutschland 86.

Looks like the Beeb's Sunday night viewing is likely to get a bit more "lively" shall we say. Picked a small piece in Tuesday's 20 Minutes which says some British MPs are likening the new series Versailles to porn. So I googled and yeah, it's ruffling a few feathers. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-en...-a6928651.html |

I'm a fan of the 2005 movie with Kenu Reeves and Rachael Weiz.
Peter Stormare is wonderful.. and by far the best Satan ever |
