I'm hooked. | | | | | AHh, there's a Season 2? Didn't realise as it wasn't on Netflix. Will check it out. |

As long as you keep an eye on the characters' hairstyles it's fairly easy to keep up with!

Episiode 9 of The Crown was some of the best historical TV drama I have seen in a long time, and I'm not usually into "recent history" things, preferring ancient or medieval history. It's an amazing series, for me expertly cast and very well written, and I don't know enough about the historical accuracy to complain about the changes they have made for the sake of drama. For me it just really works.

Rebellion is a good series. It is on netflix (ch) at this time.....fairly short however.
Most have been mentioned already....but have you ever watched trailer park boys, the Canadian series????
Not to everyones taste, but it is undeniably hilarious at times (also netflix - CH).
The killing (us/dk), orange is the new black and love/hate. Check them out.

The Times raved about it and gave it 5 stars. I'm two episodes in and wondering how 58 more can be sustained. As one very aware of historical errors, I was annoyed to see King Edward watch breakfast TV on the election of Churchill as Prime Minister in 1951... | | | | | | Quote: | | | | | We're really enjoying it. I watched hbo's 'hung' a while back and enjoyed it despite its potentially possible prurient content. It turned out to be good and Anne Heche was good in it.
The sound track is really quite good too.
Some of you have noticed that sharon jones of 'sharon jones and the dap kings' passed away from cancer the other day. i had hoped to see her in concert. well this track of hers was used in one of the episodes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYccVpb87Ro

At home with a sick kid the last few days and watched David E Kelley's "Goliath" Highly recommend it! Unbelievably good.
Just when you think they have worn out the old legal drama genre, and can't possibly improve it in any way.. but then they do. Wow!
Billy Bob Thornton is amazing. Great actor with a very strong cast. Excellent stuff.

Apart from the older and established ones, eg. Game of Thrones, Homeland, House of Cards, Stranger Things (omg! that was soooo cool) here are some recent ones:
- Westworld ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0475784/) is actually very good! Reminded me of the Ex Machina (the 2015 movie) concept
source: torrent
- Black Mirror ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2085059/) on Netflix shows the social aspects of technology or gets into modern social issues (eg. human rating via social networks or the role of reality shows in personality transformation, etc...)

Decided I am going to leave The Crown until xmas and watch it then.. just in case there's nothing decent on over the holidays, which is very possible.
Has anyone seen Preacher with Domnic Cooper? Any good?

My OH watched the final episode with an almost permanent expression of on his face, but there was one scene where I thought he got so angry that I thought he'd climb into the screen and punch someone out if he could.

Mid series, I joined Mrs Zappa in binge watching the Tudors, 2-3 episodes at a time. It is fine. Beautiful to look at and well acted. Plenty of hangings, roastings and beheadings, not all immediately successful . Puts you right off being a courtier. Weird over the last few episodes, as Henry VIII gets a gruff voice, to show how old he is, but at the same time a noticeable Welsh accent.
We started with great glee watching Designated Survivor, excellent idea, well executed, and then discovered after four episodes that we couldn't binge watch it because its still running . Quelle horreur - we have to wait a week for each new episode.
