My OH watched the final episode with an almost permanent expression of on his face, but there was one scene where I thought he got so angry that I thought he'd climb into the screen and punch someone out if he could. | | | | | The anesthesia scene.. When did Julien stopped counting?

Not sure if it's been posted already, but for the longtime Gilmore Girls fans out there...I just finished watching the 4 Netflix specials, "A Year In The Life".
Bittersweet, I would say.
I really enjoyed the specials and I thought they were well made, incorporating references to current pop culture and events (obviously the older GG series, which aired in the period 2000-2007, made reference to current events in those years), and it was so nice to see all the characters again!
At the same time, I don't know, sequels are always a bit weird and it's never exactly like the first time around. In a way, it felt like meeting again your old school friend whom you have not seen or spoken to in 10 years, and finding that you both have changed a lot and have now very little in common.

But is Luke still exasperatedly gorgeous? I'm planning on watching them over Christmas.

Although for full disclosure, being in Rory's age bracket, 10-15 years ago I was more into Dean and Jesse than the older guys. Today I'd probably go for Christopher | This user would like to thank BokerTov for this useful post:

If you're watching Westworld on RTS, their programme guide mistakenly shows at a running time of 55 minutes, when it has been announced to be 90 minutes long. Those of you using DVR, pad them accordingly.

Westworld is amazing. I just finished watching season one. Mindblown - that's all I need to say.
I'm really glad that the series got picked up for a second season. Less glad about the fact that it will premiere in 2018...
In the meantime, some other HBO shows that I'd recommend:
1. The Wire: Created by a journalist, David Simon, who spent a year shadowing detectives in the homicide unit of Baltimore, the show tells of the drug and crime scene in the city. It starts off slow but once you get into it, the show is top-notch. Features an excellent cast including Idris Elba (Luther), Dominic West (The Affair) and Michael K. Williams (Chalkie White from Boardwalk Empire).
2. The Night Of: This HBO miniseries was probably the best TV AND MOVIE watching experience I've had in 2016.
It depicts the troubles of a young man in New York City, who inadvertently finds himself as the prime suspect in the murder of young woman. The mood and pacing are reminiscent of Hitchcock's "Vertigo" and NYC has never been filmed in such a "belle laide" fashion. Highly recommended!
3. The Jinx: A 6-part documentary series about Robert Durst, the reclusive son of a wealthy real estate mogul and the key suspect of several unsolved murder cases.
Hope you guys enjoy the recs and happy holidays |

Containment episode 1 now watched - not going to win awards for acting - but interesting to see how it pans out.

Not sure it really did. Didn't watch it, but hasn't been renewed so is a limited series according to Wiki.
Anyone watching/watched Pure Genius? I'm quite enjoying it, though taking a little while to get going. Doesn't look like it's popular enough to get a second series though, only 13 episodes and no more ordered to expand to the usual 22 episodes most series run for in the US.

Really looking forward to the new drama based on the life/ works of the Brontė sisters. To Walk Invisible is on BBC1 at 9pm on 29 December.

Apparently on Christmas Day, ITV will run another Maigret with Rowan Atkinson. Could be interesting.

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency on Netflix.
I've just started it. It's nothing like the book... and yet somehow it is. The tone is spot on even if everything else is different. Utterly bonkers and clever and... good. Really good. I look forward to seeing where the series goes.
Samuel Barnett (the camp pianist from the History Boys) is Dirk and Elijah Wood is a guy called Todd who does not appear to be having a good day. The supporting cast is great and the plot is twisty turny.
First episode is pretty bloody. Not one to watch with kids.

Not a series, but for fans of the film and who can get UK terrestrial channels here Channel 5 will be showing "West Side Story" at 2.20pm on Boxing Day (26th December) - which finishes just in time for you to switch over to BBC2 at 5.20pm for "West Side Story Stories", a documentary on the making of the film and its inception. C5 also showing "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" and "On the Town" before "West Side Story" so you can have a good singalong all day. | The following 2 users would like to thank Medea Fleecestealer for this useful post:
