Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

I just started Stranger Things. Oh. My.

Tonally it's like Flight of the Navigator or Stand by Me or even that recent 70s set Super 8. Love it. I just need 6 hours straight to finish it!

I watched season 1 of Shooter.
Wouldn't be the first on my recommendation list, but it's fun.

Up to episode 3. Not really gripped so far. New series of Homeland is better than any since Brody departed.

The Blacklist with James Spader.

Excellent stuff!
I love The Blacklist. There is apparently a spin off show starting soon but I believe it focuses on Tom Keen and Mr Spader won't be making an appearance.

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

I watched the two first episodes of Westworld last night... it was... interesting. I think I have to watch a few more to figure out how I actually feel about it.

We watched the two seasons of Scorpion on Netflix. It's kinda nutty at times, but there's a lot of "action" and the characters are not too bad (although a bit cliché)

You're a bit behind then. We're getting series 3 of Scorpion on ITV2 at the moment. Think the characters make it, if they weren't as oddball as they are it would have been cancelled after the first series. Does seem to be getting more and more unbelieveable though, given it's supposed to be based on the real life Walter O'Brien's exploits - though there's a lot of doubt about what he claims to have done anyhoo.

It's rebooted.

I've watched the new series so far, and if you, like me, love 24, then you'll enjoy it coz it's 24 and it's back on our screens again! It ticks all usual boxes: in real time; ticking clock; loads of action and pretty much everyone you meet could be a sleeping agent / mole / evil double-crosser who works for the dark side. Oh, and you can't watch one episode without wanting to watch the next one because they always finish an episode with a pesky little cliff-hanger.

But Dammit (Chloe), I really miss Jack Bauer!

Oooh... you've sold it to me. But if it's only on Sky I'll have to wait for the boxset!

In real time! Please. You couldn't do half the things they do in "real time". That makes the whole premise flawed.

Probably for the best. That way you can binge-watch it!

I'm starting to regret not saving up the recordings, but as usual, the desire to watch it, trampled all over my pathetic excuse for willpower and now I've got a '24'-style clock ticking down in my head until my next fix.

What's worse, is that I haven't even learnt from my mistake. I did the same with The Walking Dead, and now I can't fricking wait until Monday!

You're right. I think they do it in about 45 minutes... coz of the ad breaks.

But Jack Bauer is superman. And he never needed to pee either...

'Tis TV. It's all flawed if we don't suspend disbelief.

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

ok just watched an episode of the new 24, so so..not a fan of that lady from homeland, but the shaky camera is just awful, just felt dizzy afterwoods. Ive watched whole seasons of 24 over a day and never felt this dizzy before...probably give this one a miss. Waiting for Bauer as president in the next designated surivor in March

Sam Reily in BBC's SS-GB. Watched the first episode, looks promising.

I love Sam Reily since I saw him in the excellent Austrian western movie *The Dark Valley*
