Sam Reily in BBC's SS-GB. Watched the first episode, looks promising.

I love Sam Reily since I saw him in the excellent Austrian western movie *The Dark Valley*
I forgot to record it. Thank Crunchie for Iplayer.

I am hopelessly addicted to the The Great Pottery Throwdown. Say I'm not alone?!?

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

We've been a bit lost since blasting through all of the Good Wife.

Looks like "The man in the high Castle" will keep us quiet for a while. The Nazis & the Japanese won the Second World War and occupied the US. Based on a Philip K. Dick dystopian book. Nice early 60's atmosphere and a not-too-frantic pace.

You're alone! Who'd a thunk such a thing existed. Actually I might give it a try - Mrs. Zappa enjoys a bit of potting.

I'm enjoying it, read the book donkey's ago and totally forgotten the plot. Some interesting book adaptations on the horizon, Neil Gaiman's American Gods and Richard Morgan's Altered Carbon. Not read either series, but heard good things. I have read some of Morgan's other work (A Land Fit for Heroes) and think he's a great storyteller and character creator.

Just watched the firs episodes of The Killing and The Fall. I must say, I got hooked by The Killing more, though The Fall is also good.

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

I am enjoying "The Legacy" - torrented season 3 - good Danish series! This one is without too much violence.

As you also read Margaret Atwood, totally follow your recommendations here .

The Killing (U.K. version) and The Fall were both great.

Oh boy, plot twisted, Stella Gibson got me more engaged to the Fall series. And she's quoting Atwood, "A woman, I forget who, once asked a male friend why men felt threatened by women. He replied that they were afraid that women might laugh at them. When she asked a group of women why women felt threatened by men, they said, 'We're afraid they might kill us.' He might fascinate you. I despise him with every fiber of my being."

Decline and Fall. And The Last Kingdom both about to start on the BBC channel. Also The Replacement, which is a mini series that's running at the moment

Whether good or not is up for debate.....

Watched first ep of new series of Benidorm.....

I used to love the sarky comments and equally sarky and ironic repartees between Madge and her son-in-law Mick.......without them, even if it is only one ep into the series...it is not as good anymore...seriously lacking something.

I got bored with The Fall after a bit. Very good to begin with, but then.. once they padded it out, I lost interest.

Anyone caught up with the return of Broadchurch Series 3?

Yes! Loving it despite its usual rather harrowing nature. I love the way the other detectives gripe at the boss. I'm going to have to revisit season 2 though... I can't remember why -SPOILER- the killer from season 1 is still at large.

I adore David Tennant in anything and Olivia Coleman is outstanding.

Just also got bored with the Fall. I think it's Jamie Dornan. I think he's a deeply dull, uncharismatic actor. Although zilliions of 50 Shades fans will no doubt tell me I'm wrong. We had a similar discussion at the school gate on Tuesday....

Yes, you're right! He doesn't sustain his character at all into series 2. He comes across as bored, but think your 'dull' is rather apt .
I have always liked G. Anderson, mind.. brilliant in Bleak House.

Will give Broadchurch a go and see..
