Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

Ok.. based on so many recommendations in this thread so I watched first 4 episodes Homeland .. it seems ok so far .. although now i know that i will watch the whole series now.. but I think so far I am finding it to be moving on a very slow pace.. but the storyline seems to be interesting enough.. Also, I think the Carrie character is a little overdo ..or the actress seems to be overacting while portraying the over obsessed CIA agent .. does anyone agree with me .. ??

I somehow compared it to 24 (I have managed to watch all the seasons), 24 was a bit Bond Bond types.. everything revolving around one character.. but it was happening .. moving really fast .. something or the other ..or probably because "All the events occurred in real time". Lol

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

as mentioned earlier, we started The Following last night and did 3 episodes. Excellent show......the other half was disappointed we had only 2 more episodes and it was also bedtime.

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

I'd have to agree that homeland moves quite slowly in the beginning. worth it though i feel.

She is over acting, but also part of that will be explained. I don't find her 100% credible anyway, but i just don't like Claire Danes.

If you think the Carrie character is overdone now, just wait until the end of season 1. Also, go on Youtube and look at Anne Hatheways spoof of Carrie on Saturday Night Live. It was hilarious. Homeland is really, really good. I thought season 2 was even better than Season 1. It doest take a long time to unwind the story but when it does, its a doozy.

The only thing is, you will hate the girl who plays Brodys daughter. Not for anything she does (not a spoiler) but just the way she acts. She has a large role in Season 2, but is absolutely awful!

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

Thanks to Hulu Plus and Netflix I have been able to watch my shows and add a ton of new ones...IMO the best ones out now are:

-Homeland
-Revenge
-Dexter
-Person of Interest

Promising but unproven shows
-The Following
-House of Cards

Still loyal to even though they havent been very good in a while:
-Criminal Minds
-Law Order SVU
-CSI
-The Office

Criminal minds .. I dont know .. how people are still stuck to that .. I mean .. I lost total interest in it .. the over display of emotions from the characters .. and same to same ..

Does anyone have any comments about Brotherhood ??

Well as I said, Im not recommending the show to new viewers, but I still watch out of habit (or OCD). They still sometime pull a gem out of thin air, but those episodes are fewer and fewer in between

Has anyone else been watching Death in Paradise on BBC1? I just love it! It is set on a fictional Caribbean island and Ben Miller, who plays the DI in the series, is brilliantly cast

Re: good TV series recomendations..... ?

there was a great French series, very realistic and heart breaking. It was called Un village français

http://programmes.france3.fr/un-village-francais/

It's about a French village in the French Jura during WWII under the occupation.

There was one episode where the Germans were holding some hostages for the killing of some German soldiers, and the hostages knew they were going to be killed. It really brought home the horribleness of the situation.

I recommend it if you have the nerves for it.

Banshee

Recently watched a few episodes of Banshee. Nothing special imho. Contains violent fight scenes as well as nude scenes.
