Discovered "Continuum" recently.
Absolutely hooked - and shocked at how close we actually are to the events depicted in it.

As weird as it sounds, but currently, TV holds very little of interest for me. Sure, I watch my usual stuff, which I shall list promptly due to me recommending this stuff. So here's the list, followed by the reasons why I'm not so interested in the telly anymore. - The Walking Dead
- Falling Skies
- Defiance - although this has gotten very boring very quickly
- The Venture Bros.
And that's basically it. I am fairly certain that I'm forgetting at least one show, but this is how engaged I currently am in televisionry. Basically, it all sounds very uninteresting. The few shows I've given a chance in the past few months - mainly "Under the Dome" - were boring and very formulaic.
So here's the part that explains why I still watch TV. I am currently rewatching old stuff. I've started watching the complete Oban Star Racers the other day and I'm enjoying myself immensely.

I just finished Orange is the New Black (Netflix Series). It was actually pretty good (just push through the first episode). Really good acting, great story, and not just focused on the main character.

have just watched first two episodes .. i think they are losing it.. anyone sharing the same opinion...? | | | | | I have been saving the final season so that I can watch a bunch of episodes in a row.
It would be a shame if they didn't make the most of the final season - hope it gets better.

I watched the first two episodes of Dexter (series 8) last night and enjoyed them, but they are a bit odd!! I hope it gets better.

Either way, it stays odd, that's the whole point of the show. Great series though, reminds me I need to catch up with the latest series.
EDIT - Wait, I misread... have you seen the series before 8 or did you actually start there?

Arrested Development is hysterical. I have been introducing my wife to the original 2 seasons on Netflix. Best of all, Netflix had them do a new season, so there are 13 brand new episodes.

Too hard to choose which one I like better - both have their merits. We're just lucky to be in the golden age of TV. Everything I see at the movies seems to be worse than TV these days.

When cable channels starting pouring serious money, pushing the envelope and it all clicked.

Never seen so much crap get turned into TV programmes in my life. | | | | | I disagree - that's easy to say and I've heard people saying it every decade for the last 3 or 4. The amount of money being spent on particularly US TV at the moment is comparable with Hollywood budgets and the quality or production, acting and writing is there to be seen.
It may not be to your taste of course - but the on demand TV industry is catching and I predict will overtake Hollywood in the next 10 years as people start to "consume" their visual entertainment differently
