Re: Getting a smartphone in Switzerland

I recently moved from Denver, and I have been using a Verizon iPhone 4s that was unlocked. It works just fine, as the 4s has both CDMA and GSM built in. so it is possible.

Ps. Congrats on the job

I had bad experience with orange to buy a simple SIM for my foreign iPhone (they wanted to sell me an ago or to take a looong time ).

Re: Getting a smartphone in Switzerland

I just stopped at the Sunrise store in the Zurich airport after arriving. Granted the speed for data with the prepaid (low end plan) is slow, but its just to check email through out the day... so it works for me. I will say that Verizon was pretty upset when I had them unlock the phone and three days later cancelled my account.

You can just buy prepaid SIM cards online and never have to deal with a person.
For example, 5CHF for an Orange prepaid SIM:
http://shop.orange.ch/en/icat/omeprepay
Or post-paid SIM:
http://shop.orange.ch/en/subscriptio...icat/orangeme/
