Changing Xbox region

Hi There,

I recently bought an X-box 360 console and bought some games from ebay. Unfortunately when inserting the disk, my console says that the region is invalid. Googled some tricks on how to fix the region problem, but its a bit tricky for a non internet savvy person like me. I'd assume there'd be a service available to unlock my Xbox. Could someone help?

Thanks!

Re: Changing Xbox region

You basically have to create a new xbox (live) account for this to be done

It is a bit stupid that neither Microsoft or Sony have anybody in their company who changes country it seems...

Re: Changing Xbox region

What country did you get it from? Hopefully not Germany if you want to play the Zombies on COD.
Let us know the country it came from etc so that we can help

Re: Changing Xbox region

Sound like NTSC vs Pal to me. You Xbox is probably PAL as you bought it here? And the games you bought are probably NTSC (should say on the back of the games box).

My Xbox is from the UK and plays German, or games from Switzerland no problem. But it definitely will not play games from America.

Re: Changing Xbox region

It's funny, because I brought my XBOX from the Americas and when inserted German/Hungarian games, it just played them.

The console is not modified in any way.

My problem now is that since it was an old Xbox, it's Fcked up due to the RROD and has already been "fixed"

Re: Changing Xbox region

The XBOX does have regions like DVDs. However it is up to the publisher to enforce them. I have found that most EA games are region locked. Rockstar games are generally not.

I have an NTSC xbox from the US and have to buy most of my games from there although I have bought some here when I have been sure they will work.

Thats why a bought a PS3 here. those games are not region locked at all, but their downloadable content is which is a pain.

Re: Changing Xbox region

You can find information on the internet of Xbox games if they are region free or not (example play-asia) You just have to do some research before buying games from a different region.

Play-asia sells PSN cards for all regions as well.
