Ending a contract with Swisscom

Hi,

I want to end a 2 year contract with Swisscom, but how much would it cost? My SIM card got stuck in my phone, and in order to get it out, I had to unscrew my phone but one of the screws wasn't working, so I went to the Swisscom shop so they could do something about it. The lady who took charge of me put a paperclip where my SIM card goes and for an hour she was trying to get it out. By constantly scratching the spot where my SIM card goes, she damaged it, and now they're making me pay 168 francs to get my phone fix even though it wasn't broken when I went to the shop. When I got my phone, nobody told me that if I unscrew the phone my guarantee was gone, and this battle has been going on since January. Rather than pay, I was wondering if it'd be more worth it to end the contract and go to another carrier where I could have a cheaper contract.

Re: Ending a contract with Swisscom

Well all opening any electrical device renders the guarantee useless, this is pretty much common knowledge...

As for breaking the contract with SwissCom that entirely depends on the conditions of the contract... but I'd be willing to guess, that you invalidating the guarantee is not enough reason. Best is to ask them what you will have to pay to break it.

Re: Ending a contract with Swisscom

Don't pay to 'break' the contract. But inform yourself what the conditions (duration) are in order to resign from the contract. I have read a few months ago, that Swisscom changed their conditions: so now, it is possible to resign from Swisscom mobile phone abonnements within 2 months since you gave notice.
