freesat box from uk

Is a freesat box going to be any use if we take it with us to switzerland, we need to get a new tv there anyway, so should we use a box or can you get something like the freeview digital tv there?

Someone mentioned cablecom for inernet and tv, does that get more uk channels?

I really have no idea, obviously, so any hints appreciated.
Thanks

Re: freesat box from uk

You'll obviously need to erect a dish in order to get a signal, but if that's not a problem then you should definitely bring your box along with you. Much cheaper than cable here, and a wider variety of English-language programming.

Make sure that you follow Mark's - (who was the founder of this forum) excellent guide and bring your dish/box from the UK.
We bought all the things from amazon and followed his instructions and in no time at all were tuned in to all the UK channels for free.

That was the post which led me to this forum, and the rest is history...

to the OP: Keep your subscription live in UK and bring over the box.
It is better that way.

With no subscription, as we don't have any, only freesat. Are you allowed to put dishes on houses usually?
