Can we bring UK TVs with us?

Somewhere I have read that British TVs wont work in Switzerland - is this true? Ours are max 3 years old and digital. I know there are other issues to sort re. cable, sky, etc, but just need to know if I should bring them over.

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers.

Re: Can we bring UK TVs with us?

old units had some issues, look in your user setup section, you will have a country list, but 99.99 % it will be fine

Our Toshiba ( about 5 years old) works fine. Just brought a UK powerstrip and changed the plug to a swiss one. Using a Swisscom TV box with a UK TV and UK DVD player. No probs.

It kind of depends.

If you are wanting to just have the standard analogue tv through cable, then maybe. I know Sony have different models for the UK without integrated cable tv decoders, but others like Toshiba have a standard model across Europe.

Having said that almost everyone I know has either a cablecom/swisscom set top box, or have installed sky. For all of these you will have a set top box which you connect to the TV, so lack of the integrated European cable decoder in the TV is not an issue.

So you should be fine to bring it over.
