Sunrise TV Deal?

Has anyone signed up for the Sunrise TV/internet/landline bundle? I'm a little sceptical on the internet speed and would love to hear opinions. I currently have Cablecom's PowerCombi deal which includes much faster internet, but I'm a little disappointed in the fact that there are often (several times a day!!) little mini-outages, and the speed isn't really what it's cracked up to be...

Re: Sunrise TV Deal?

I have Sunrise for landline and internet (since they bought out Tele2, who I used to use).

Can't tell you what the speed is, but I have no real complaints, and have suffered no major outages that I can recall.

I personally would be a bit sceptical of a TV service, as they must be very new in this area.

I have steered away from these all inclusive offers, as I don't like the idea of being at the mercy of just one provider (use Cc for TV), and when I costed everything out, I'm no worse off than one of the "special" deals.

Re: Sunrise TV Deal?

I have landline and internet and never had a problem. It is 79 chf but I pay 49 because I also have a mobile plan with Sunrise. After one year they offered me a discount of 20 chf so I will pay 29 for landline and internet...not bad they also offered me a deal for TV...but I do not remember how much...I do not need it.

Re: Sunrise TV Deal?

I pay 113 CHF for the Swisscom offer.Internet 20000/2000 and HDTV. Never a problem. Sunrise offer is more or less the same as Swisscom. Cablecom is a good price but in the end the only advantage is the speed. That's because if you get Swisscom TV all in one then you can cancel your contract for the Cablecom radio and TV connection-someone comes by and plugs up your cablecom plug so you cant use it. So you dont have to pay this charge of 25 CHF any more.

https://support.upc-cablecom.ch/app/...kabelanschluss

So in the long run you are really not saving money with Cablecom. They all work out at a similar price.
They just have these silly reduction offers for new customers-this game is boring!

Re: Sunrise TV Deal?

My DVD recorder, now about 5 years old has just given up. Basically I am content with the small choice of TV programmes I get through Cablecom at its lowest level. But now I can no longer record those films which made up a good part of my viewing time - unless I buy a new recorder. So my thoughts turn to Sunrise as I have both fixline telephone and Internet from Sunrise. If I get the Sunrise TV 'start' it's sufficient for me with those added programmes to the ones I get now so I'll not need a recorder. I'm not sure if the additional Fr.30.oo for TV Comfort is worthwhile for me.

Any Sunrise TV users here?

Re: Sunrise TV Deal?

Better you get the "power combi" or " smart combi" from Cablecom-it's about the best deal price wise and speed wise.

I have the Vivo Casa from Swisscom which I find good but more expensive and slower.

Re: Sunrise TV Deal?

Just thought I'd report back - so I very gladly left Cablecom after all mobile devices and sometimes laptops stopped working wirelessly (amazing how dependent I've become on this stuff!!). Switched to Sunrise despite the fact that I went from 100 mbps to 20 and lo and behold, all devices work again without issues. Also, Sunrise TV hardware is much faster, more reactive, provides better picture and same for the sound which I'd noticed went a little funny when I switched from Swisscom to Sunrise.
So far, pretty happy Sunrise customer here

Getting the router exchanged would have fixed your issues as well... Now you pay the same for 1/5 of the speed - not sure whether there's anything to be happy about here :-/

Re: Sunrise TV Deal?

Actually, went through 2 different brands of routers with no success. Also, at least now when I use the TV menu, I get from one channel reasonably quickly as opposed to 1. No reaction, 2. Blue blank screen, 3. Interruption in sound 4. Search menu 4. Change programs. And Cablecom's reassurance that they're coming out with new hardware just made me laugh - they've been aying that for a year...
So yeah, still happy

Do you mean that with other providers such as swisscom or sunrise you do not have to pay the monthly fee of 25 CHF to just have the plug on the wall ?

Re: Sunrise TV Deal?

You have to cancel that. Either with your landlord or at Cablecom. If you rent an apartment it's usually included in the rent.

I can confirm that. I had both Cablecom and Sunrise at the same time for two months. I can clearly see a superior picture quality of Sunrise under the same conditions. Sunrise also have more English HD channels including BBC1 HD.

Re: Sunrise TV Deal?

Thanks You swissmama and omtatsat.

I always thought that the 25 CHF would be some kind of common charges from all service providers.

But if Swisscom and Sunrise do note have this charges then it would make send to switch to either of them. right ?

cheers

Don?t forget that you will no longer have radio when you plug the connection. Just radio through Swisscom
