The cablecom threads always follow the same pattern, I can imagine how boring they must be for those who have been on EF longer than my 2 years.

1. OP posts thread of bad service
2. Posters suggest some helpful ideas
3. Posters tell OP how wonderful cablecom is and how the service they get is perfect.
4. Everyone starts chipping in with their good/bad experiences.

Have lived in Switzerland twice. In two different cantons. In five different apartments. Over ten years.

My internet connection has always been much, much, much better than my mums in the UK. My TV box can pause and record since forever. I can phone my mum in the UK, my bro in Oz and my mate in the US for free. One of the few things I hate when traveling to places is because it is so damn good here and I get annoyed if my connection is slow or broken.

Long story short, I love Cablecom and I am off to get a tattoo now.

So, that makes me a number 3. At least I am not a number 2.

Re: Cablecom... as bad as ever

What is very anoying is their " middle of the month" billing system where you never know what you have already paid or what you should pay. Totally chaotic.

Hi everyone,

Following on from a whole load of other threads...

Recently, I was complaining on here about how bad Cablecom's service was a couple of years ago.

But.... this month, I took the plunge, signed up for Cablecom, the engineer came, checked our socket, we received our modem and... yup, it's as bad as ever. We have no service. The modem can receive, but not send out any signals. Genius.

We rang Customer Service today, and they've arranged for a second engineer to come out on Monday.

We had exactly the same problem last time we signed up with Cablecom. That time, three engineers came out to check our socket, before one of them established there was a problem. And even then, the reliability of our connection was terrible, and eventually we just walked away from our contract. (A contract with Cablecom is a two-way thing. You pay them money, they provide a service. They repeatedly broke their own contract, so we walked away.)

What are the official terms of quitting Cablecom, before they've managed to give you any service at all ? I signed up in the storeSaturn, and the salesperson told me we have one month to walk away...?

Re: Cablecom... as bad as ever

I am now with Swisscom and no probs.
But I was with cablecom for a few years.
Heres my list of Setop boxes that I had.
The first one on the left was OK. The second one was replaced 3 times by cablecom because of some indefinite problem. In the end Cablecom gave me the third one from left. And in this one the common problem by mine by many others was that the remote control sensor on the modem simply did not work as it should. The one underneath is their latest effort.
Their hardware was something from another century-cheap rubbish. And even now they have done very little to improve the quality.
Swisscom by contrast is another higher level-it simply looks like a quality product and is.Well maybe one has to pay a little more but whats the choice?

O.........k...........

And? What is your point?

Surely can't be suggesting either that cablecom matches up to sky / sky + in any way shape or form
