Billag Invoice?

Tried to search for the subject and when there was a 48 page with 940+ posts I thought I'd ask in a new thread.

Basically, I paid the TV license last September and think it was valid until February (or maybe it was July) this year. So far I haven't received a new invoice and was wondering if this was not something that should come automatically or if I should contact them and beg them to pay?

Was there something about the Billag being incorporated in income taxes so no seperate payments have to be made or was that quashed?

PS. Before anyone directs me to Google or Billag.ch, neither of the official Swiss languages are my strong point so thought I'd ask from someone who actually knows

Cool (I guess). I just thought that when it comes to paying someone for something, an invoice would always find its way on time

As long as I can't get fined then

I set up a quarterly direct debit, they take the money eventually, last debit was for 9 months I think, so there not exactly on the ball!

Re: Billag Invoice?

OK, good to know.

I just don't want anyone from Billag knocking on my door telling me that I don't have a paid valid license because I had to initiate a request to get a new invoice...

Thanks again

Re: Billag Invoice?

they sent me a manung a while back for an unpaid bill, i told them they had never sent it or it had been lost in the post as I get all other mail and bills.

I payed the bill but without the manung amount and wrote them a mail saying if they accept the payment the matter is closed and if they want the manung amount they have to provide me with proof the bill was posted.

They wrote a nice email saying they will accept the payment and the matter is closed.

play the game

They changed from quarterly to yearly billing.

Re: Billag Invoice?

Greetings,

As you may have gathered by now, Billag historically were notorious for their billing capabilities - quarterly bills might turn up 6 months late, usually with some sort of malus (late payment costs), sometimes they just plain forgot and I got away with free months or more !

However since they switched to yearly billing, my last two bills have been spot on. Well done Billag - you've joined the 20th century. One more to go.

Re: Billag Invoice?

UPDATE: Lo and behold... The Bilag invoice came a few days ago and is valid from October 1st 2012 to September 30th 2012. Its not due before January 2nd 2013 and was for not more than CHF 296.25 (if I remember correctly)

That would be Telly only. Are you sure that you do not have a car stereo with radio, smart phone with fm tuner, radio alarm clock, a computer that can receive radio station streams, or could you listen radio with your telly through your sat or cable box ?

It is very hard to not need a radio license and get away with a telly only one. Unfortunately, Billag knows that too.

I don't have a car, no FM tuner on my smart phone, no radio alarm clock, but fail on the laptop and radio through the cable box though

So, yes when I "signed" up for the Bilag thingy, I did not cross the radio box...

Interesting. Mine come quarterly and it is for 125 or 145 or something like that. Maybe when you originally sign up for it you can choose how often it comes? That I wouldn't know as the (completely useless) re-lo company signed us up for billag so I never saw the paperwork. Until the bill arrived and my name was wrong. If you want something done right...

I think it should read 1st October 2012 to 30th September 2013. After all you can't have a contract that finishes before it's even started!

Because it would be for one day only . And you would have to live through that single day in reverse time too . Maybe the Doctor can help.

35/month, I get the bill every quarter..
