Preventing Connection to Swisscom Hotspot

Does anyone know if there's a way to prevent my iPhone (with a Swisscom subscription) from automatically using Swisscom's hotspots instead of 3G?

When the connection switches from 3G to the hotspot then my phone starts to sync stuff and download updates because I have a wifi connection. This then increases my my 3G data usage (Swisscom treat hotspot data usage same as 3G).

I don't want to disable the sync functionality (it's useful). I don't want to have to remember to enable/disable wifi every time I leave or arrive at home or work. I just want to stop automatically connecting to a hotspot that would be free to me anyway if I wanted to manually connect to it (via my Boingo subscription).

Re: Preventing Connection to Swisscom Hotspot

Turn WiFi off until you need it. I think that's the only way.

Edit: maybe connect to the hotspot, and then go to the WiFi settings and "Forget" the network. That should prevent the phone from automatically connecting to the hotspot again.

Re: Preventing Connection to Swisscom Hotspot

The "Forget" network option that Slaphead mentioned is the one that works for me.

Settings -> WiFi -> Select the Hotspot network (click on the blue-ish arrow) -> Forget Network
