WWZ set-top box AND DVD recorder

Has anyone in Zug area knowledge how to make three things work together, TV, WWZ set-top box, and a DVD recorder.

When I unplug completely DVD, then plug aerial socket of set-top box into wall, and scart from set-top box to TV - I have all my new channels like BBC 1, 2, 4 and so on. That part is fine.

Now to get the DVD working:-
On the STB (set-top box) there is an aerial out, send that to DVD aerial in, also from STB cinch audio/video to SCART on back of DVD, DVD aerial out to TV.

I get no sound or DVD when trying to play a DVD.

Got some hair less at the moment!

Can anyone help?

Re: WWZ set-top box AND DVD recorder

You do have a swiss TV and DVD player dont you ? If you are using the UHF modulated signals (aerial) then the swiss sound standard is different from UK. Using SCART all round, and this wont be problem.

Re: WWZ set-top box AND DVD recorder

Yes, swiss TV and DVD - should have mentioned that. The STB only has one scart plug, but the WWZ said I can use a scart on the DVD to 3 cynch (video and audio) on the STB ....

I think I need a 3 into 1 auto-sensing SCART adaptor, does that make sense? Can you recommend such ?

OR
Just went here http://www,dtg.org.uk/consumer/connection_wizard.html

Entered No of scart sockets on TV = 3
clicked digital box
clicked DVD
and then clicked Find Diagram

RESULT? DVD plays, I hear the sound through the TV, but no picture, just slight wavy like interference but no picture.

All cabling is exact to the diagram.

That is
aerial wall socket to Digital Box
aerial Dital Box to TV
scart Digital Box to TV AV1
DVD scart to TV AV2

Maybe what I need is a aerial splitter, giving me two aerial sockets from the one in the wall, then one goes to the STB and the other to the DVD recorder?????

Well I got an aerial splitter and the DVD recorder does not work at all.

I give up.

Re: WWZ set-top box AND DVD recorder

Finally done it!!!!!!!!!!

It works - as a DVD player and a recorder.

Step 1. Connect main TV aerial into set-top-box
Step 2. Connect an aerial lead from set-top-box to DVD
Step 3. Connect an aerial lead from the set-top-box to TV

Step 4. Connect set-top-box to TV (AV1) with a SCART
Step 4. Connect DVD to TV (AV2) with a SCART

Connections finished!

The link which I found most useful:- http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/connecthelp.php

However on my TV you have to retune a channel on the TV, so that that channel "sees" the Video signal, and in the setup of the TV, you have to tell it to scan AV2 in my case as a MONITOR.

Also tell DVD to rescan all channels.

I now can play DVD and record from the TV channels, I still cannot record from the new channels provided by the set-top-box.
