Where to buy Sony Playstation 3

Hi There
I would like to buy a Sony Playstation 3 as a Christmas gift (read I'm running out of time fast!). I live in Zug and it would be great if there was somewhere nearby or close to Luzern.

Thanks

Maxine

I don't think you'll have a problem. Try inter-discount, most music stores, and I think Manor have them too.

There's at least 2 shops that sell them from Luzern Bahnhof, the Music shop that seems to be in every station usually has them (can't remember the name), and inter-discount.

Interdiscount will be your best bet for warranties , returns etc. , should you need them .

If there's an MElectronics in your vicinity, they put an automatic two year guarantee on the stuff they sell.

Re: Where to buy Sony Playstation 3

Depends which one you're after the 60gb or the 40gb..

40gb you should be able to pick up virtually anywhere.

60gb is more expensive and might be more difficult to come by!

What are the other differences between the x2 any PS3 bods? I have a 60gb one..

Re: Where to buy Sony Playstation 3

Is there somewhere you can buy English versions of PS3 games, or do you have to get them imported?

Trying to get Call of Duty 4 in time for Chrimbo but was told by a shopkeeper that the versions in the shops around here are only in German.(Zurich)

Not so worried about the manual being in English (I prefer to figure it out myself anyway), but if all of the spoken word in the game is in German then it might become a bit confusing.

There is a shop in Basel nr Schifflande which imports US versions but expect to pay for them. I got a US import from there of COD4 which is uncut aparantly whatever that means. 110chf thou

Not sure of the store name. I'll have a dig next time I go past, nice bloke in there. To be honest with USD to CHF you might as well import them yourself. Or if you brave jap versions.

I've brought a Swiss Fifa 2008 and mucked about with the language settings in the control panel of my PS3, it's ok as long as you set the system language to English in the main control panel.

Vice versa I have a English Copy of Oblivion and if I change the system settings to Deutsch the whole game/ menu system is in German. I'd read the box carefully but most games core language is English.

It must work this out as the game loads it refers to the language in the PS3 system settings

I'd be surprised if the german only version is as such. I reckon if you took the disk home it would play in english as that is the core build language, however manual would be useless unless you can read german/french or italian (fifa 2008)

BTW don't play COD4 on the Veteran level unless drunk it's insanely difficult and tests your patience severely (oh well got to beat the damn thing!)

I got COD3 and that was German only, some games are like that, no matter how much you play around with the settings.

The games here also seem subject to stricter German censorship. If you want to get a more controversial title, you'd be better off ordering oustide of the German sphere of influence.

Time to dig the shop name out in Basel then, there must be a equivalent Zurich way

All I want for Christmas is GTA IV (everyone seen the new trailer? x3 in total now), lock myself in a room with food and beer and not exit for a week.

Unfortunately not due until Q1 2008, grrr

BTW this is a age restricted trailer aparantly!! 18+ only, so careful kiddies make sure mummy and daddy aren't watching
