The Humble Bundle-6 great PC THQ games for only 1$ (or as much as you want to give)

Just thought I'd give a forum-wide heads-up to this amazing deal that's on the interweb, The Humble Bundle http://www.humblebundle.com/

Basically, THQ are in financial trouble and are trying to find ways to save things. One strategy is putting an awesome bundle of 6 games online and saying "pay what you want", with a proportion going to charity etc.

So basically for as much as you want to give (starting at $1) you can have the following PC games:

  • Darksiders
  • Metro 2033
  • Red Faction: Armageddon
  • Company of Heroes
  • Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
  • Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor

Also if you donate a minimum of the average donation (around $5.65) you get:

  • Saint's Row: The Third
Pretty amazing bundle really, and worth it just for Company of Heroes alone. However, all the games are good.

However much you donate I really recommend using the donation sliders to give the majority of the money to THQ, as they are and always have been an amazing publisher and it's really sad they are now in financial troubles.

Hope some of you get some use out of it.

This time only, complete with DRM! ;-)

Past humble bundles have been pretty good though, and it's a neat concept.

It's Steam, and Steam is a good thing in my opinion. DRM is here to stay, so I guess we have to choose the lesser of all evils!

Steam is DRM done fairly and properly IMO. Buy it once and then run it from any machine where you log into Steam. Also it's platform agnostic - buy a game for Mac and you automatically have the permission to run the Windows (or in future Linux) version of the game.

Shame Steam's front end is bug riddled and clunky - at least it is on the Mac.
