If this happens I'll no longer be watching, sorry. Because it won't be Doctor Who any more. | | | | | Ah, you're just sexist.
I liked the character Missy, but never saw her as the Master. She just didn't have the sense of menace.

Tilda Swinton would be superb, incredibly talented.. doubt she would take it tho', far too big an actress and quite in-demand internationally, I would've thought.
Gosh, wouldn't she fill any male Doctor's boots, and more besides..
Certainly be interesting to see her in that role.
Okay, so my favorites are now: Ben Wishaw and Tilda Swinton.
Shake. it. up. |

Missy/Master didn't really do it for me, but then no one has had the same menacing quality of Roger Delgado. And of course Missy doesn't appear every week. But a female Doctor - no, just no. Not for me. The scripts have been getting worse and worse these last few years, changing sex will just be the final straw that breaks this camel's back.

Nope. Last few years it's always started around Eastertime. A bit silly imho, it works much better as a autumn series finishing with the Christmas special. Now there's about a 6 month gap between end of series and the special.
According to Wiki Stephen Moffat confirmed in 2015 that there'd be at least 5 more years of Dr Who so it's due to run until 2020 at least. Just hope they get better scripts than the last few years have been and don't go for a stupid selection for the new Doctor.

Hi,
the classic tv series used to be on in the autumn but the reboot has sometimes started at Easter and sometimes in autumn. Personally I think it is better as an autumn series.
It starts on 15th of April and there will be 12 episodes and at Christmas there will be a Christmas special which will be Peter Capaldi's last episode as the doctor and also the last episode for Steven Moffat as the show runner.
There will be single story episodes as well as a 3 parter with a new set of creates...the monks. Also Missy returns as well as the original Cyberman from Mondas.
I hope they choose an older actor to play the doctor and it does not matter if they are male or female.
Have fun
Martin

This is not Doctor Who related.. though I will try it out over Easter, don't hold much hope. Moffat truly piddles me off..
I am looking for the James Bond thread. Medea! Where's Medea? - HELP! Am going nuts. Can't find it.. and there's Bond news to share. We did have 007 thread? Never mind Doctor Who Sorry, didn't mean that.. i did.. no, no.. |

You mean this one? https://www.englishforum.ch/tv-inter...ames-bond.html
Or this one? https://www.englishforum.ch/tv-inter...eshooting.html
You do realise with all this sex changing going on that James will likely turn into Jane by the time they get around to making the next movie. | This user would like to thank Medea Fleecestealer for this useful post: | |

I couldn't even find one, Medea, and you go and find 2
It must be tucked into another thread.. a recent discussion a few of us had about the next Bond actor. No Janes allowed |

I don't always succeed. Was trying to find the "Giving up the blue book FATCA" thread today and struggled to track it down. Loads of threads came up on the subject, but that one doesn't appear for some reason. It used to, but doesn't any more when searching. Given it's the longest thread on the subject that's just . Eventually managed to find it and have now copied the thread info to my PC so I don't have to play "hunt that darned FATCA thread" in future. |

Set my system to record Dr Who tomorrow
Apropos, when I record from German channels and later check the list of recorded then the titles are always correct.
When I record from English channels the title shown is often from the previous program .
I found if I manually set the start time a bit later then mostly the title is correct but it is a bummer because sometimes the first minute is an important part of the plot
I am with a cable TV provider SASAG. Anybody know of a better solution?

No Janes allowed | | | | | I think it's in the movie recommendations thread: there was a debate about Tom Hiddleston being too short (when actually it's the inane and in(un?)definable creepiness that should exclude him) and Idris Elba. Yum.
Cumberbatch would be an interesting Bond but am not sure he should.
Back to Dr Who... I'm not sold on Bill the new companion. I suppose we will have to wait and see.
Seriously,is it in or un? It's late and my Kindle is slow and I can't be bothered to Google...

Probably jinxed myself now and will get home to discover there's been a powercut or similar Act of the Giods so I'll find myself watching 60 Minute Makeover or othersuch rubbish off Pick.

First episode - meh. Though it focused on Bill I was more interested in the Doc's other companion who's popped from nowhere with no explanation at all in the episode.
And as usual too much fast talking so pretty much missed what the "puddle" actually was. Something to do with a spaceship was as much as I managed.

Undefinable or indefinable.
Nardole (?) the Matt Lucas character was in the Christmas special and was in another episode of the last series.
Not seen the episode yet, will catch it tomorrow.
