Hey, spoilers! Some of us won't get to see it until next weekend!
Read the title of the thread? Hint: contains the word Spoiler Alert.

I thought it was also meh. Next week's looks better.

Undefinable or indefinable.

Nardole (?) the Matt Lucas character was in the Christmas special and was in another episode of the last series.

Not seen the episode yet, will catch it tomorrow.
Shows just how little impact the episodes are making on me then.

What spoilers? He's been well publicised and I've seen him in a trailer /art work for the series.
Not you, someone mentioned a puddle.... that's not in the trailer!

Anyway, spoilers and Bill. Rumoured to be written out as soon as Christmas; new Doctor, clean slate.

Re: Dr Who (Spoiler Alert 2013)

Rumours all over the place.

http://www.news.com.au/entertainment...9beeee1616123b

Evidently betting on Kris Marshall was so hot bookies suspended bets according to this.

http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-38808070

Betting back on now though so maybe not.

I suspect a decision has already been made or will be very soon as they'll want to get the majority of the outdoor filming done during the summer weather. We're already into mid April and they have to do script runthroughs before they start filming.

Oh, ok. I wondered.

Yep she's only in it for one season according to the press. Looks like they're planning a reboot of a reboot... in the style of Trigger's broom. Shall be interesting because no Moffatt either. They should let Mark Gatiss at it full time, or Toby Whithouse. Frank Cottrell Boyce (Millions etc) has written an episode this season. Looking forward to that.

Good grief no! Gatiss has stuck his fingers into the script pies enough already - which is probably why they're as bad as they are.

Re: Dr Who (Spoiler Alert 2013)

Very disappointed with the first episode. Great sets, good(ish) acting but a feeble storyline that seems to have been repeated over and over. "Naughty aliens lurking in places you don't expect them."

The Doctor's stuck in a groove - or is it just a time warp??

My vote would go to Andrew Scott or James Norton.

Re: Dr Who (Spoiler Alert 2013)

I'm half way through... Little Rufus wandered into the living room mid puddle and looked worried so I had to turn it off. I like Bill, she's interesting. The Doctor seems rootless, which is ironic given the set up to the episode.

I like Mark Gattis' writing: he's interesting.

Andrew Scott would be a good choice! I wouldn't like Kris Marshall in the role, too smug and the doctor can already be smug. Who is James Norton?

Someone like Matthew MacFadyan may be interesting perhaps, someone a bit quieter, more measured, to balance all the mad running and world saving.

Aha, Grantchester. Hmm... Yeah. I see it.

Saw it.. mostly meh.

Interestingly, my son just completely switched off from it. He did the same the last few episodes of the previous series. To think at his age I was totally glued to it.

The second one was better. I like her - she's the best sidekick he has had in quite a while.

Really liked the Valencia shooting location (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_Arts_and_Sciences ) but the story did not make any logical sense. The robot should have realized that there action was the continued and amplified source of grief.

Re: Dr Who (Spoiler Alert 2013)

Hmm... episode 4... the wooden lady was unspeakably creepy but I think Suchet could have been better.

Damn.

I hope they're not going to stretch out the "who/what's in the vault" for too long.

Re: Dr Who (Spoiler Alert 2013)

I'm actually really, really enjoying this season. I like the horror theme. I like the new companion. I like that the episodes do not feel like recycled stuff.

I like that they dropped a little of the overly comic nonsense, which I found not funny at all.

Re: Dr Who (Spoiler Alert 2013)

Not me. It didn't work for me. Oh the character was good and she plays it well, but it's not the Master, just another villan. Only Roger Delgado was the Master.

Not really a surprise I guess. They seem to be doing a totally clean sweep if the new assistant is also leaving after just one series. Maybe it'll take a totally different direction and we'll get some decent scripts for a change.

Re: Dr Who (Spoiler Alert 2013)

Hi,

Roger Delgado will always be the best Master for me but I think she has done a good job with the part and she will be missed. I found John Sims's Master was not so well written. Hopefully, any reboot will not ruin the show. I will miss Peter Capaldi, I think it is better when the doctor is older.

Have fun
Martin

Re: Dr Who (Spoiler Alert 2013)

Well, after the 3 parter I'm still no wiser about why the aliens were there in the first place.

Victorians on Mars - meh. Didn't work for me at all. Only 2 more episodes to go in this series. Am I the only one saying thank goodness!
