Intrigued to know what they're going to do about the regeneration because isn't this technically the Doctor's 12th and last possible incarnation? Which would also explain why Missy can't regenerate? | | | | | Missy won't be able to regenerate as whatever her alter-ego shot her with (presumably his version of the sonic screwdriver) was set on 'full blast'; like a Star Trekky phaser gun it seems that it can be set to stun or kill.
As for the 12th and last regeneration.... think the Doctor's technically already passed that magic number, wasn't there some jiggery pockery going on with him regenerating into the same actor a few series ago?

Hi,
you can be certain that the master will be back. He/she always is. Also the regeneration limit was removed in the Day of the Doctor.
Have fun

Yeah, we're well past the 12 renegeration limit.
"The serials The Deadly Assassin and Mawdryn Undead would later establish that a Time Lord can only regenerate 12 times, for a total of 13 incarnations. This line became stuck in the public consciousness despite not often being repeated, and was recognised by producers of the show as a plot obstacle for when the show finally had to regenerate the Doctor a thirteenth time.[86][87] The episode "The Time of the Doctor" depicted the Doctor acquiring a new cycle of regenerations, starting from the Twelfth Doctor, due to the Eleventh Doctor being the product of the Doctor's twelfth regeneration from his original set.[88][89]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Who
So presumably they can go for another 12-13 incarnations before they hit problems again. |

"The identity of Doctor Who's 13th Time Lord will be revealed following the Wimbledon men's singles tennis final on Sunday, the BBC has announced.
A trailer featuring the number 13 in different locations was aired during the tennis on BBC One on Friday.
It finished with the caption: "Meet the 13th Doctor after the Wimbledon men's final, Sunday 16th July." http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-40608669[/QUOTE]
You know what depressed me about this? I couldn't care less. At one time I'd eagerly be awaiting the end of the tennis to find out. Now, well I'll read or hear about it somewhere eventually. Meh. |

I'm hoping for Kris Marshall! He would epitomise the Doctor and all his quirkiness |

Bring back Tennant...
I think a female doctor would be interesting.

I think a female doctor would be interesting. | | | | | Yes, I liked David Tennant. He had the right level of quirkiness, same as Tom Baker and I think Kris Marshall would have that same "je ne sais quoi". I'm open for either a male or female picking up the reins so long as they have that.

I liked Tennat. I liked Ecclestone. Shoot me, I liked Capaldi and I liked Hurt (I also like old farts as the Dr.... Besides, I'm a bit fan of Hurt, poor guy).
I just did not like Matt Smith. I couldn't wait for him to die, damn it. He was too quirky, too weird looking, too smily. Clara did not help (how I hated her damned boring character).

I liked Tom Baker. Peter Davison was ok, Colin Baker and Sylvestor McCoy I didn't like. McGann was quite fun. Ecclestone was great, Tennant ok but not great, Matt Smith was great, especially with Amy and Rory. Clara was terribly bland. I liked Hurt and Capaldi, despite the dire scripts (and Clara and Ben).

Clara just sort of faffed about with her one wide-eyed expression, yawn.
Capaldi, as brilliant as he is, couldn't save those scripts.. but having said that, I would hate to think how they would've managed without Capaldi doing all that heavy lifting.
Let's see.. still think Ben Whishaw would make one hell of a Doctor.
