She is playing the new assistant/companion, but whether that character will be Oswin or someone else we've yet to know for certain. My guess is that Oswin will be though, it's the sort of thing Moffat likes to do and it a good writing premise anyway to introduce something early and then keep referring back to it later on.

Yes, I think her first appearance as his assistant will be in the Christmas special. I think she will be Oswin, how that happens we will see. Will be sad to see Amy and Rory leave though.

According to an article in The Mirror she is definitely playing Oswin and will be starting in the Christmas special.

Apparently they had Dalek types from the shows whole history. http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2012-09/01/dr-who |

I'm glad that Oswin will be back. But it'd be sad to know her future. Moffett does like to play around with cause and events... the divorce of Amy and Rory was suspiciously easy to resolve.

AARGH! Just been putting next weeks' Dr Who in the planner and see it's episode 2 of 5! I thought they'd stopped being so stupid. Guess it's another e-mail of complaint to the BBC. Boy, am I !

They should do one every week forever and ever - without compromising production standards in any way. Slackers.

I suspect it's because Moffat wants to work on Sherlock Holmes, but I find it really annoying that Beeb have accommodated him on this to the detriment of Dr Who. There's absolutely no reason why they can't schedule filming to do both programmes if they try hard.
Anyway, I've fired off a complaint, asking for a reply, so we'll see what they say. If you feel like doing the same, then let them know how you feel. It won't get changed if viewers don't make their feelings known.

**SPOILER ALERT (including previous series) **
**SPOILER ALERT **
One bit I dodn't get was the comment that Amy dumped Rory because she couldn't have children and he wanted them. But they have a child - Melody/River.
So what was all that about?

Other than that they could easily pass as one another.

So what was all that about? | | | | | I missed the first few minutes so can't say. But if there wasn't a particular reason given for the change then it's bad continuity in the storylines which is something Moffat as head writer should be checking.

So what was all that about? | | | | | maybe rather than a half-timelord criminal mastermind time-travelling across the universe, they actually wanted a normal kid?
