**SPOILER ALERT **
One bit I dodn't get was the comment that Amy dumped Rory because she couldn't have children and he wanted them. But they have a child - Melody/River.
So what was all that about? | | | | | from Wikipedia "...but gave him up since she is infertile as a result of the events of " A Good Man Goes to War" and thus unable to bear the children she knows that he has always desired."

Reading the synopsis doesn't given any hint that Amy suffered anything more than a normal birth and I can't remember if it was different in the episode.

apparently the marriage problems were foreshadowed in the 'pond life' mini series, but i haven't seen this.

| | Re: Dr Who | Quote: | | | | | I missed the first few minutes so can't say. But if there wasn't a particular reason given for the change then it's bad continuity in the storylines which is something Moffat as head writer should be checking. | | | | | It was slightly introduced in the prequel leadup series Pond Life: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00xwctd
... but still kinda weak part of the story line for the sake of a bit of extra dramaticism. Still awesome overall though! And the Pond Life's were a fun build-up.

Great. Now they're going to make the assumption that people are watching internet only part of the programme and not bothering to fill regular viewers in. |

I must say I seem to recall some mention at the end of the last series that Amy wasn't going to be able to have any more children....

Just been made to watch it..
It's total plop. But it's plop made horribly worse by the unremitting 'smart alec' mode of conversation.

Well, got a reply back about scheduling being complex, but it's never been a problem until 2011 and 2012 series so that's ridiculous. Have fired off another complaint e-mail so we'll see what they say this time.
I've hinted that the wait for the rest of the series may be as long as the run up to the 50th anniversary special date which is a year away so will be interesting to see if they inadvertently confirm that.

See we resume viewings on the 30th March. Can't say I'm waiting with baited breath because I'm still so fed up with the fact that they split the series to start with. | The following 2 users would like to thank Medea Fleecestealer for this useful post: | |

By splitting the series, the tension doesn't increase, but the momentum decreases. Bad decision, IMO.

I agree, I was very disappointed when the series was cut short. However, am excited that it will be on our screens again soon.

No, Tennant had reached the end of the line. Not his fault, I hasten to add, rather the script writers got tired, I think.

Introducing John Hurt as The Doctor! Wow, what a way to end the series. It'll be interesting to see where this goes. Hopefully JH won't peg out before they've done the filming.
Anniversary special confirmed for 23rd November 2013.
